Hard to search, closest I can find is this...

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=3469

Are miketeevee and/or KennyT still contributing?
They are (Kenny posted here a few hours ago actually). According to his own posts Mike's company uploads data on behalf of BARB to the latter's website so I'm not sure he would have made definitive statements on the inner workings of BARB.

Strictly wasn't great tonight, saved only by a few excellent dances and Claudia. The first half dragged and the addition of Donny Osmond (so awful, so so awful) threw everything off but at least it used its time better this week, last scores came in 5 minutes before the scheduled end as opposed to over 10 minutes like the last two weeks. It started and ended exactly on time as well.

X Factor really good tonight. It's going to do well this year I know it! No matter what Samuel's prophecies say.

Judges brilliant especially Mel B, all the contestants are holding some of my attention. It's got the buzz it hasn't had for years...! Since 2009 easily.

Must say I'm surprised at how good it is actually, despite having quite enjoyed this series on the whole, this has been pulled off surprisingly well, and is the best the series has been.

Even though Osmond wasnt good, his presence did the job the BBC wanted, which was to fill time effectively.Strictly will batter XF during the hour clash.

Was there a +1 promotion at around half past 8, James?

Broadcast also have the overnight rating wrong for the Strictly final last year. I'm sure it was 11.5m average and a peak of 12.6m.
Were you looking at the sidebar on the Broadcast article whose link I posted? That was about the 2011 final.

If I recall correctly Broadcast packed up for Christmas before the 2013 Strictly final's rating came in, and stayed off till the middle of January.

You mean from now? I cant say its done badly because the ratings it gets can never be bad from a modern perspective, but I suspect the thought is that it would be better placed than it is going into the lives.

Tonight is hampered by Strictly and its huge running time, the most telling rating will be tomorrow night imo. The first live decision show with Cowell and Cole back in the frame. That will indicate where this series is going imo.

Not sure I follow?

Am watching on a delay to skip ads - am now 12 minutes behind.

No. No its not.

And being forced to watch the show live tonight has left me wondering how anyone regularly watches these live shows live. The same is true for Strictly to be fair although I find it less pronounced in Strictly perhaps because of the lack of ads.

There wasn't. Unless I drifted off and missed it which isn't completely impossible.

Tomorrow's rating for XF will not be very good either due to the strange 8.15pm start time, which will screw things up a little bit. In fact, Downton starting at 9.15pm will probably get its worst ever rating.

I dont understand why they had to have Sunday Night at the Palladium starting at 7.15pm. The England match kicks off at 5pm, will be over by 6.50pm. They could've had a quick post match analysis. Instead, theyre going to have 25mins of post match analysis which will rate low, drag down Palladium with it and screw up the rest of the schedule. Hey ho, at least the BBC will take advantage of it.

It's a really enjoyable show, flowing great. But yeah I'm skipping the ads - however won't be next week as I'm having to avoid social media spoiling it as am on a delay! Not to mention I want to comment along with it this year...

... it's actually good!

Haven't enjoyed it for 5 years but it's back to its best IMO. Great talent, great judges, perfect live shows.

X Factor doesn't try and be anything its not, literally doesn't care about the haters, and I love it for that.

Sorry - just asking if ITV said viewers switching over at 8.30pm could catch up with the start on ITV+1?

No. No its not.

I'm watching on +1 but thought the first performance was very good and the panel has life again... but it's early days.

Thanks. Foolish in my opinion as a gentle nudge may have helped with the viewing figures.

Don't be sorry, I just didn't understand you! I'm not sure, I may have missed it if they did with fast forwarding through the ads.

Have they ever done that before?

Thanks. I don't think so and, frankly, if they didn't do it tonight I doubt they'll ever do it.

My sister. This is what I get for visiting my family.

I'll just say that I agree the show is flowing well enough but I'm just not enjoying it at all. None of the acts at this point have impressed or left any kind of impression. They can have all the slick production they want but if the acts aren't delivering the goods the show is just going to be bad.

I'm watching on +1 but thought the first performance was very good and the panel has life again... but it's early days.
I think Mel B is proving to be the single best thing about the show this year. The rest of the panel I can take or leave although Simon has been more tolerable this week than at any other point in the series. Cheryl is still just bland wallpaper.

Mel B is fantastic. But the overall judges chemistry is fantastic. Production values are slick and updated from the past.

Free voting is fantastic - will generate a lot of buzz.

The X Factor is the official dark horse of TV this autumn season.

I'm not sure The X Factor can be a dark horse...

I think that would be The Great British Bake Off. I don't think anyone expected it to pull in 12m+ viewers for the final despite the promotion from BBC Two to BBC One.

The X Factor just has to make some year-on-year increases through the lives. Anything else is a bonus.

Of course it's Bake Off for the year. I meant the autumn season, I didn't mean the whole year - my bad

You can't be enjoying the X Factor if you posting on this thread instead of watching it.

Donny Osmond was appalling on Strictly, no way was he there to fill time. Please Strictly producers, never ever get him on the show again!

I think X Factor will get around 7.5-7.9 million while Strictly will get probably around 8.5-8.8 million. Hate it when shows clash, it benefits no-one.
