I like the idea of EastEnders being at the centre of the evening. Would much prefer 9pm slot to 8.

I love it. When Ant & Dec are on something on ITV they seem to get criticized no matter what they do. The thing is whether you like them or not, they are the top presenters of a very small tree, enabling to bring in the ratings for ITV. Fair enough criticize Schofield with his massive ago, but to criticise Ant & Dec, you need to have someone at able to match them on the BBC to at least have a worthwhile argument. The only two who come close are Bruce Forsyth and Graham Norton. The rest is very average.

Coronation Street will beat Call The Midwife with ease and I think EastEnders will have people more excited to watch than Downton.

Perez Hilton is a name that's apparently apart of the Celebrity Big Brother lineup - now that's a name that I can see getting some big attention.

Schofield is a very good live presenter. Magnificent on Going Live and in The Broom Cupboard. Not sure why he gets so much stick. Why should Ant & Dec get protected and Schofield get slated?

Text Santa might not have got the ratings last night (in fact quite low) but it definitely had a better flow and better content than this year CIN which for the last few years has been dragging its heels, putting on mediocre stuff knowing that they will rate well regardless. Since its been on so long its welded into the public's mind, and is watched by default (sorry) in truth. I imagine the majority of CIN audience is skews quite a bit older than last night's TS.

Bot both raise money for charities and are good causes.

He is good at LIVE TV despite some on here criticising him for not being any good, but he does have an ego which puts some off. I must admit I'm not a fan, but I don't mind him sometimes.

Pretty low for EE last night, and Corrie and Emmerdale (which has just collapsed). I think on Wednesday against Skyfall EE will be around 7m (as it starts the same time) and Corrie against Toy Story around the same if not lower. On Xmas Day Corrie will just top CTM, dropping to 6.8m (its lowest ever Xmas Day - last year it was EE's turn and now its Corrie's), while EE will top the soaps with around 8.1m, against DA in the region of 6.5-7m.

EastEnders was expected. It's higher than i thought however i expect Emmerdale to top it. I know it was close but Emmer should have been in front last night. I am not going to predict EastEnders christmas day but all i will say is it will be up on last year. I fully expect New Years Day to be it's highest figure in ages with what looks like their best ever stunt and a shock death. They have kept us in the dark.

OK, I've "laid" (bet against) EastEnders being the top overnight on Christmas Day, on a certain gambling site which shall remain nameless. £7 stake, set to gain a further £7 if I win, lose £20 if EE is top. (I think!)

Why isn't ITV even promoting, yet alone heavily promoting the premiere of Skyfall?

Lol. Oh yes sorry I'm lying. Cos the trailer for Christmas Day I've just seen didn't feature teasers for the rape storyline 'reveal' and nothing else. Cos there haven't been endless articles about how Danny Dyer's gonna 'go mad' and 'trash the Vic' when the truth comes out on Christmas Day. I never disputed there isn't a lot happening. I said that all the hype is on the rape reveal. Which I stand by and don't appreciate being made out to be some kind of bullshitting hater.

I'm another one who thinks EastEnders will do well on Christmas Day. I've predicted 9.2m on the ratings prediction thread. Have I gone mad? Probably Still think Miranda or Mrs Brown will top the day though.

I would love to see a 10m overnight for any programme on the big day. Hasn't been a 10m Christmas Day overnight since 2010.

There is no need for that tone. I didn't say you were a hater just pointing a fact that Christmas is not just about the Carters. Sure the Xmas day trailer is based on them but others including the Beales are in the episode (The Brannings too). The Lucy twist plays out on Xmas day i think.

Sorry but nobody had a go at you personally but 2 people did not agree with your point. Just because you state your point again still does not mean I am going to agree with it either. The trailers and the couple of articles I have seen do not put all the hype on the rape reveal. Its just one of the storylines.
