They have. The Omnibus will be gone in April.

There's no need for soap omnibuses now with I Player, catch up and repeats on smaller channels. I suppose the only reason ITV persists with them on ITV 2 is they fill up dead airtime and cost almost nothing, even if hardly anyone is watching.

Does anyone have ratings for both darts tournaments. The World Darts Championship is far more fun to watch, dancers, models, music, audience having a laugh, and has all the big names, the BDO just has no atmosphere.

Nothing reported for ITV or Channel 5.

Just noticed ITV are repeating Skyfall again on Saturday, why do they always overkill things? It got a great rating on Xmas Eve, but why not wait to show it again when the hype for the next film is in full swing next Winter, instead they'll repeat the hell out of it to ever diminishing ratings

Yeah I've noticed. Although ITV's HD and +1 Top 10 is available. How odd.

I can understand them showing the sixties Bonds to complement the premiere of Skyfall, but not repeating it this week.

It is puzzling - see my thoughts last night here.

Maybe they didn't expect it to do as well as it did on Xmas Eve.

Skyfall did excellent business, proving Bond is a valuable asset to ITV and hopefully Sky won't get the films again.

A assume they paid a lot for the rights and maybe they were given a window to show Skyfall x times in two months and then Sky have it and the bond films again,

Or

They hacked it to get it on Christmas Eve, feel sorry for viewers and will show a less hacked version post 9 pm.

Or.

There lazy.

I would have thought a year or so off didn't do ITV any harm at all. Maybe the opposite?

Anyway, it's nice for those who pay to get to see the films as they should be seen, ad free, original aspect ratio and DD5.1 soundtracks etc.

DS gives the ratings for the opening and closing 15 minutes: 4.49m => 4.05m.

Also that all depends on how well SITE does and the return of The Voice. Could be very interesting this time next week.

As for Downton Abbey. That's a huge number for the Boxing Day repeat. A total of 11.32m - which still suggests the show is very much alive after performing very averagely over it's latest run.

Well I dare say its pretty annoying for EE/MBB/Miranda as well to name but 3. Up to now we thought it did not affect ITV but now who knows?

Bond and ITV have a relationship going back 40 years and for all something like Thunderball isn't big enough for peak time, I'm sure a million or so people enjoy the re runs in the afternoon and a lot of these will be men who don't often watch ITV. Not being a huge ITV viewer, or BBC One come to think of it, Bond is one reason I press the third button.

It makes me wonder how accurate the overnights truly are if there are so many anomalies with the officials.

BBC doing their best job of making their FA Cup coverage as unprofessional as possible by having a half dressed Jimmy Bullard as a pundit.

About three people and a cat were watching it, same as the tiny handful of people who get up at 6.00 on a Sunday morning to watch the Emmerdale omnibus on ITV 2.
Yet for all this concept seems very dated now, in the eighties the Eastenders omnibus could pull in 5 million viewers and a similar amount would have watched the omnibus for CS on a Saturday afternoon. Actually Brookside was the pioneer of the soap omnibus.

Imagine what would have happened had ITV still had the FA Cup and they used Bullard as a pundit. I expect there would have been a number of comments slating ITV Sport and demanding that the rights went back to the beeb.

You're right, Andy, a bad pundit is a bad pundit whoever employs him. Also catching some darts in the pub, the BBC's competition is like a pub competition compared with the extravaganza Sky put on at the same time. It's clear both BBC and ITV now lag behind Sky.

While this would be a flop on BBC One or ITV, this is Channel 5's equivalent of Strictly.”

You say this every year but CBB coverage is on the increase after a few quiet years. Initially unsure, waiting to see how it would play out with audiences, there's a great respect now for how C5 has given the format a new lease of life from the media and It will be covered extensively in the press once again. You might choose to ignore it, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Also, pointing out that 2-2.5m would not be good enough for BBC One or ITV isn't particularly helpful as the show would add several hundred thousand immediately if it moved to either of these channels due to the higher reach achieved by these channels. And FYI, the winter runs have achieved 2.8m and 3.1m the last twice (consolidated).
