OK CBB lineup in terms of celebrity, fantastic lineup in terms of what they can bring to the house. It's one of those years where I think again, the lesser celebs will be great value. eg. just like Frenchy last year.

9 out of 10 of the UK trends are CBB related. I know that doesn't mean much but hopefully 3m+

That's because ED & CS aren't dramas they are soaps

Outside of soaps, do you mean? I think there's a high chance of that. I'd not be surprised if the BBC News at 10 was the highest-rated programme of the day overall, though. Over two-thirds of the national bulletin given over to Hugh Edwards reporting live from Paris, as you'd expect.”

ITV had Mark Austin in Paris on the ITV Evening News, and I assume on News at Ten as well

I guess ITV are desperate for Corrie to win the NTA as the crash aftermath plays out on 21st at 7:00pm right before the awards show.
Nothing new to the last few years tbh. I suspect based on this it will win as it will be the last soap people watch before live phone votes open. (Only soap of the big 3 on that night too)

Your not suggesting the NTA awards are ever so slightly biased to ITV are you?

The third episode of The Wonder of Britain is apparently dumped from that week's confirmed schedules altogether - it's unplaced on Digiguide.

Should hope so. These crimes are obviously equally barbaric wherever they're commited but this incident being only one train ride away does make it quite a bit more chilling.

No ever so but very
Shame there is that terrible man hosting the whole thing again. Get O Grady or Ant & Dec to host it. Someone funny that can handle live TV.

Based on the year EastEnders,Bake off and Strictly should do ok.

Probs have Corrie,Downton and the x factor winning though

Brilliant interview with Francis De La Tour on BBC 4 now.

Oh yes the NTAs where either outcome ITV don't win.

If they lose, it's a disaster for the channel, if they win its a fix.

Remind me again, how many awards have EastEnders won on ITV over the years? Quite a truck full if I recall correctly.

Or "serial dramas", as some award ceremonies call them.

Strictly have won for the last 2 years. How do you explain that?

Any other week ITV would keep Emmerdale put and show Corrie on Sunday so how come this one week they happen to show an aftermath to a big crash moments before live Phone votes open

yeah that might be true but since the LIVE votes have happened every year EastEnders won once. Sure the past couple of years it was weak but one of those was 2010 coming out of a big year and entering a bigger one.

Clearly the public haven't been on Corrie's side this time which explains their one and only nomination for the NTA's so if it happens to win the best award the fact that corrie running a big episode moments before proves my point.

Digiguide says 3.

Eastenders is truly the king of the soaps where awards are concerned.

That's not right actually, if there is only one soap on a Wednesday it is always Corrie, with Emmerdale moved to an hour long on Tuesday

Corrie only ends up on a Sunday if it is a Monday or Friday episode that gets displaced.

I'm sure the year of the tram crash, EastEnders won, so it works both ways.

I think you need to wait and see, not complain in advance of something that might not even happen. You get a lot of that on forums.

What would be wrong with Corrie going out Tuesday at 8 and keep Emmerdale where it is on Weds at 7?

Why can't Emmerdale air a triple like it did back in Nov/Dec?

The worse call on the NTA awards is that the best drama of the year, Happy Valley, is not nominated in the drama category but DA and DW are - now thats madness.

On another EastEnders note. Could the BBC be planning a special show or an Aftermath LIVE again? Which is still the most watched show in Digital TV is it not.

@ZoeTheBall 3m3 minutes ago
@mrjakedwood @alisonrwood @EmmaWillis @bbuk thanks jake. Happy New Year. See you for the live eastenders. Will miss you on @SCD_Live_Tour

Zoe would be a great host for it tbh.
