It's just, you look at consistently high performances in primetime like that and then you look at the BARB percentages (1.9% for December vs 2.6% for ITV2) and something doesn't quite add up.
I know they've strengthened up a bit since then but the big brands Big Bang and Hollyoaks were still doing great business so it should be higher and closer to ITV2 by my reckoning. So what's holding them back, if anything? Am I missing something?”
Looking at the week of 15th to 19th December, I'd say that its the afternoon line-up from 13:00 to 17:00 that drags the channel share down badly. To give an idea:
12:00 - Hollyoaks: 1.9%
12:30 - Maternity Court: 0.9%
13:00 - How I Met Your Mother: 1.4%
14:00 - The Big Bang Theory: 3.1%
15:00 - Rules of Engagement: 1.7%
16:00 - Melissa and Joey: 1.5%
16:30 - Suburgatory: 1.2%
17:00 - How I Met Your Mother: 1.3%
Aside from Hollyoaks and The Big Bang Theory (surprise surprise), the rest of the line-up under performs, especially Maternity Court and Suburgatory.
