Expect some kind of Roald Dahl drama for next year as it is his centenary

The repeat of Miranda on Wednesday just gone will have snaffled a few but it should be fairly negligible.

Few thousand maybe...couldve been the difference and made it top show of the day...oh well

But had MBB been repeated a few days later it would have been top again, and so on...

Looks like Thunderbirds will be airing on the CITV channel and simulcast on ITV main channel on weekend mornings rather than in a tea-time/evening slot, according to ITV Media:
Quote:
“After 50 years, Thunderbirds is back. The five Tracy Brothers embark on top secret international rescue missions, piloting their iconic Thunderbird crafts from the depths of the oceans to the highest reaches of space. Thunderbirds are go!

Sponsorship package details:
26 x 30 new episodes across 2015 on CITV mornings and simulcast on ITV”

Meanwhile, ITV are re-adapting 'Peter Pan' which goes into production in Spring and will air late this year.

Hmmm, not sure how I got that George Gently figure, but you're right that BARB has 6.607m. I've updated my figures now, thanks for that.

Pretty fantastic episode of Benidorm tonight (or last night), will miss The Garvey's, but looking forward to The Oracle and Noreen returning.

Really? I thought it was absolutely dire- It was nice to see the Garvey's get a happy ending (or Spin Off? :P) but it was so awful- I didn't laugh once in the whole episode- It just needs to be put out of its misery now, they're flogging the same tired old jokes they were three or four series ago and it doesn't have the edge it had when it was half an hour

It was definitely the best episode in a while, full of laughs. It's a massive loss losing the Garveys though, I'm not sure it will ever be the same.

Well from a ratings perspective, that won't be much above your usual CITV figures.

Missed opportunity?

That's is very dissapointing. Can ITV get anything right at the moment?

Great to see Miranda Hart having her final day in the sun in the ratings, almost the top show of the night!! She will hopefully write something else for the comedy department now, or indeed do something for BBC one on Saturday nights. Wise decision to quit Miranda while its still popular though and deserved ratings.

Maybe they'll just be simulcasting the first episode ?

I don't see what simulcasting the whole lot would achieve.

They have spent a lot on it for them to hide it away on CITV. Personally I would have it on a Saturday night at 5.30

Anyone else think tonight's scheduling of Stars in their eyes is in the wrong place?

Putting a comeback talent show against the established TVUK, it would have been better at 8.30 picking up viewers from TVUK, and have take me out earlier against TVUK.

Live ratings for SITE could be quite low, but might be boosted by catch up and OD services.

Take me out is an established show and a different type of LE show, maybe using the word talent in another way. Or swap family fortunes from Sunday against TVUK.

Well it is only one report so it could be wrong. Like others I would have thought it worth at least a try on a Saturday early evening.

With regard to Thunderbirds, it does seem a little strange for ITV to invest what they have, to effectively dump the series where few will see it. I've seen a few of the promo shots - the sneak peak of Thunderbird 2 and Thunderbird 1 on "security footage". It all looks promising. Maybe the show is a bit of a dud and so they do not want it failing on a prime time slot - but then they go and order further episodes.

I really can't see where it goes from here - they were like the linchpin of the show with everyone else more like supporting characters. Who will be the main focus? That newer family were fairly awful.

I assumed the Garveys would be there till the end of the series so a bit shocked to see them go in episode 2! Is this a way of testing the water and seeing how people take to the remaining episodes before going ahead with another series?

It's an amusing hour of entertainment anyway, not many laugh out loud moments, ever, but nice escapism nonetheless.

To be honest looking at the last 2 eps I think the joke was wearing very thin and they might not have got away with another series anyway. I wonder what she will do next?
I dont have much hope the *not* Gen Game will ever see the light of day.

Can't see her doing much comedy wise again and certainly not anything of worth. Miranda was her personality and style all over, you can't recreate that and I can't see her making something different.

I suspect we'll see her in more serious roles since that's gone down well for her, and maybe roles in other people's comedy shows. And this proposed Generation Game maybe
