Rising Star. They axed it before it even aired.

They should try her with a chat show - it worked well with Sir Bruce although she was a touch sycophantic but no worse than TOS or GMB.

Get Your Act Together, starting next Sunday, is now the replacement for DOI.

Just makes me even sadder DOI has gone I miss my ice skating fix - and besides the sport there is nothing else yet there is or has been plenty of singing and dancing shows.

A real shame and despite how low it went I can't see this new show doing any better. I guess Torvill and Dean would never have continued with it dropping even IF ITV had wanted it to. Oh well!

Live ratings for SITE could be quite low, but might be boosted by catch up and OD services.

No, I think it is a great move. I think it will dent the Voice ratings

I will be watching Stars in Their Eyes for the nostalgia of it and the fact that it's a bit of fun and not about wannabe people wanting to be celebrities.

That's decent for EE on a Friday.

Any non soap ratings?

Things returning quickly to normal for the soaps then, though it was a fairly big Corrie episode and quality wise much more like it should be.

Eastenders should be a little more stable next week scheduling wise. We should see a better indication of where it is following the Christmas bounce.

I personally would have moved The Musketeers to 8.30pm on Friday and moved Room 101 to 9.30pm. It would have given The Musketeers a bit of a boost and taken advantage of the weaker state of Corrie.

I think TVUK is really going to struggle this year. Rita Ora is nowhere near the draw that Kyllie Minogue was last year and with the other three judges there is a great big feeling of 'seen it all before'. Even the previews are making the show sound stale (Tom Jones apparently name drops a lot in the first episode, which was impressive and amusing in series one but now just feels forced and dull).

TVUK has never managed to maintain a large audience past the auditions but I suspect that a stale, unexciting judging panel, combined with the fact that X Factor has just finished and the general growing talent show fatigue will make this the lowest rated set of auditions to date by a fair margin.

I can't however see SITE capitalising on this to any great extent sadly. The show was great in its day and the grand final really felt like big event TV. I think the world has moved on quite a lot and I'm not sure that the show has a place in the current market. I'm a big fan of Harry Hill too, but I strongly believe this is the wrong vehicle for him. This show was about celebrating the ordinary and I think a tongue-in-cheek approach mocking the show will simply devalue SITE and make it less appealing to the ordinary viewer. I think tonights episode might manage 4m+ based on the curiosity factor, but suspect this will drop sharply for the rest of the series.

Looks like Atlantis returns on 28 February for it's final batch of episodes with final being the main word here with the lead star Jack Donnelly possibly wanting to move on.

I'm not entirely surprised given that the trailers have said CITV and also given that ITV have been commissioning other family dramas like Jekyll & Hyde and Beowulf for Saturday nights which would make it difficult for Thunderbirds to fit.

I wouldn't rule out a Saturday teatime repeat run over the Summer though.

“Meanwhile, ITV are re-adapting 'Peter Pan' which goes into production in Spring and will air late this year.”

That's interesting news. I presume that will be for the main channel. Filming dates suggest it'll be 4 hours of TV - that could be 2 x 120 minute episodes, 4 x 60 minute episodes or even 8 x 30 minute episodes though. Sounds like a good commission for Christmas time though.

Big drop for Benidorm. I am entirely unsurprised given that so many shows have seen a similar pattern lately. Strange times. I think with the Garveys leaving it could fall further too. Although to be fair Celebrity Big Brother may have dented it last night. BBC1 will be relieved to see The Musketeers hold up though.

#CelebrityBigBrother continued with 2.31m/10.0% at 9pm. It just beat #8OutOf10CatsDoesCountdown, which averaged 2.21m/9.6%.

Shame CBB dropped though, but it's still an OK figure I think.

Not great for EastEnders, below both episodes of Corrie.

Seems the same has happened as usual, by the second week of January, all Christmas momentum is lost and the usual order is resumed.

Corrie is marginally up on last week but EastEnders is a million down.

Wonder if he realises it is a bit shit and therefore wants out or is wanting to jump before it's cancelled in order to save face. The Merlin cast were signed for 5 series at the start (apart from Head and Wilson) and I'd be surprised if the Atlantis cast weren't on the same contract.

Whether that gets another series will presumably rely on how well it time shifts. The Czech filming grants make it much cheaper to film than it might be and apparently it sold very well abroad.

I tend to agree. The Voice should comfortably win the clash tonight, I would imagine it ought to be doing 7m or something's going wrong- SITE has nostalgic appeal on it's side but from the previews looks terrible (I saw the GMB preview, they wrote words to the theme tune, random sketches, Harry dressing up etc.... It's all going to be a distraction from the actual show. It just feels wrong- (But I'm happy to eat my words if it's a hit)

Great news about Peter Pan. ITV in several exciting commissions shock.

Thunderbirds was surely never going to rate high it's hardly got the makings of a schedule linchpin, although yes you'd think early Saturday evening would give it the best potential audience.

I'm thinking like you with Atlantis. I wonder if they know the series might not get a renewal which is why they're saying things like this?

The Musketeers sold well abroad but did it rate well abroad? That's what I want to know.
