#CelebrityBigBrother continued with 2.31m/10.0% at 9pm. It just beat #8OutOf10CatsDoesCountdown, which averaged 2.21m/9.6%.

Shame CBB dropped though, but it's still an OK figure I think.”

That's still good for CBB. Very slightly down on Ep3 last year which went out on a Sunday, but up on the first post-launch Friday which had the added bonus of being an eviction.

Ep3 last year: 2.33m
First Friday last year: 2.19m

It wasn't exactly a major episode last night anyway, but fair to say things are bubbling along nicely.

Excellent for 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown - so very consistent this one.

I think TVUK will surprise you, SITE will not dent it in any way, it would have done better with TMO at 7 and SITE 8.15, or shift back 15 mins to start as TVUK ends. There has been major publicity for TVUK everywhere inc on ITV GMB so it will do well, and Rita adds an " interest" how she will be different and a daughter of alum anarchy and old bungle will peak interest.

Eastenders 7.04m (31.1%) BBC 3 - 300k (1.8%). Lots still viewing on catch up, I player, and BBC3

Emmerdale 6.48m (31.2%) +1 118k (0.5%)”

EE had a good storyline and getting very gripping.

TVUK has never managed to maintain a large audience past the auditions but I suspect that a stale, unexciting judging panel, combined with the fact that X Factor has just finished and the general growing talent show fatigue will make this the lowest rated set of auditions to date by a fair margin.

I can't however see SITE capitalising on this to any great extent sadly. The show was great in its day and the grand final really felt like big event TV. I think the world has moved on quite a lot and I'm not sure that the show has a place in the current market. I'm a big fan of Harry Hill too, but I strongly believe this is the wrong vehicle for him. This show was about celebrating the ordinary and I think a tongue-in-cheek approach mocking the show will simply devalue SITE and make it less appealing to the ordinary viewer. I think tonights episode might manage 4m+ based on the curiosity factor, but suspect this will drop sharply for the rest of the series.”

I think the opposite.

Has Benidorm lost viewers then? I read its programme thread and it seems a lot are disappointed and dissatisfied. Musketeers had a good stand alone episode re the King bring an ordinary man and getting kidnapped anyone who has never seen it before could have dropped it, pity the viewers are not there.

News rated high with coverage of the #FrenchAttacks. The @BBCNews channel peaked with 1.13m/8.4% at 4.50pm, @SkyNews drew 750k/5.6% at 4.55.”

BBC News doing well and just in time for people finishing work so viewers picking up on the tragic events.

See Emilia Fox was on TOS last night and Saturday kitchen tonight with publicity for Silent Witness seems the promotion is geared for Monday's clash of the big ones.

Coronation Street is always stable, even when it's perceived to be poor. EastEnders back to where it was pre-Christmas.

It's still slightly above, it was mostly under 7m, especially on Fridays. Hopefully thing's remain stable next week, or even pick up slightly, with the normal scheduling.

Ahh looking at that, then it is good! When I think of last January, I always assume it was high all series, but it increased throughout its run and hit very impressive numbers in the final week. Good to see it is pretty much on par so far!

The fact they've not even tried really with the scheduling of Atlantis suggests they have no plans to renew it. They really could do with a replacement though. DW will presumably be moving to the later Autumn/Winter slot now.

No idea! I guess it'll all depend on how much profit the show makes overall and if other countries are still buying. The Czech benefits are very much in its favour. And the critical response seems to be more positive now. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way (whereas I'd be very surprised to see Atlantis survive!)

That's a little bit better for Corrie, if it can stay at around 35% for 7.30pm episodes it puts it in a decent position to recover once the quality is more stable.

Top rated news:
#BBC News (6pm): 6.53m/33.7%
BBC Regional News (6.30): 6.53m/32.4%
#BBCNews (10pm): 5.02m/25.0%
#ITVNews (6.30) 3.61m/17.9%.

Wow - massive figure for the BBC News at Six! It's not often it matches the Regional News figures.

Could we see a slight toning down of The Musketeers for a third series to replace Merlantis on Saturday nights ?

History tells us that viewers always turn to the BBC when there's a major news story

Point of information the first Frday last year had 3.4m compared to this year's 2.31m.

I believe last year Fri 10 Jan had 2.5m and the following Friday also had 2.5m, the last Friday having 2.6m ?

Channel 5 appear to have dropped the next day repeat, will that have an impact on the overall ratings for CBB?

There's no mention of the BBC in 1066 and we had to wait years before someone stitched together some coverage of this major event.

That is a poor ratings for corrie considering it was getting 8 million this time last year

I clearly said post-launch. Absolutely no use comparing with that figure.

No, the figure I posted for the first post-launch Friday is correct.

They dropped the weekend lunchtime ones a few series ago now. It's still there on weekdays.

Also 3:10am C5, 2pm MTV and 6pm MTV. So plenty of chances, plus Demand 5 on top of that.

I dont think EE hit 7m in December prior to Xmas so three 7m ratings this week put it up on pre Xmas quite a bit.

Er no..

The new tone has gone down well with most critics and fans of the show, so as long as the consolidated viewing figures are decent - does anyone have them yet? - a third series at 9pm is entirely possible.

The first series sold to 140 countries - only Doctor Who sold to more - so if this figure doesn't drop too much for series 2, again it will count in the show's favour.

That first Friday you speak of was actually launch night, you can't compare a launch one year to a regular show another year. However Dancc did get It wrong. The first non launch Friday of the January series last year got 2.54m, but that was an eviction.

Here are the overnights last Jan...

http://www.bbspy.co.uk/cbb13/ratings/overnight

After three shows...

CBB15's overnight average is 2.71M. At this point CBB13s overnight average was 2.53M.

Going by Saturday tradition, I predict 1.7m for tonight.

Could Stars in Your Eyes not just dent TV UK but beat it?

(I know it's not called that but everyone in my family calls it that and I suspect I'm not alone in that!)
