Haha very good

I only realised this was here thanks to the GBBO

Love the apprentice

Early doors I'm backing mark wright.

It's a non striking name, he's not made a ridiculous statement, he wouldn't stand out in a crowd.
He's my winner

Oh yes - so they do. I must have missed that when I first read it.

I know who the final nine are (roughly): DO NOT OPEN, MASSIVE SPOILER

Spoiler
Spoiler
Spoiler
Spoiler
Spoiler
Mark
Daniel
James
Solomon
Felipe
Scott or Sanjay
Katie
Bianca
Sarah or Roisin

These nine candidates are still around by Week 8, meaning 11 are fired in the first seven tasks.

I am fairly sure Bianca is a finalist - she returned to her Twitter shortly after the final was supposedly filmed.

Lauren however went between Tasks 3 and 7.

No spoilers from me as I'm embargoed for review purposes, but episode 1 is a doozy. It's everything we've come to expect from an opening task, although it is a bit confusing trying to keep track of all 20 candidates. There a couple we barely see at all. Chalk them down for going a long way, then ...

How does it compare to last year's opener, which was very good? Also, which boardroom music are they using? And are they using the same opening music as last year?

There are some absolutely classic pratfalls and soundbites this year - I'd say on a par with last year.

I have to admit I didn't pay much attention to the music - when I'm in review mode I watch with what I need to write in mind rather than sitting back and taking it all in.

Episode 2 is lots of fun too. I haven't got round to writing that one up yet. Having written the reviews for Metro (short form) and my own blog (long form - if you've read my previous years' reviews, you'll know what they're like) last night, I realised it was 3:30am and probably should get some sleep ...

Thanks for that. I love spoilers, even if they turn out to be a bit inaccurate. Thanks a million for posting that.

The moderators frown on self-promotion, which I do understand as they want to prevent spamming. However, you'll find my reviews easily enough on slouching.tv as soon as the episode has aired and also at metro.co.uk (again, this should go up straight after the episode although sometimes they hold them over until the following morning).

I don't think it would be much of a problem, the Strictly forum has a thread for blogs & reviews, perhaps if someone made on in the Apprentice forum (There's a few other Apprentice blogs, Monkseal's probably my favourite) and you slipped your review in there.

Feeling excited now ”

I've clicked on that link and there's nothing there apart from the sentence

"Say hello to the candidates of The Apprentice 2014."

However I did see a trailer before Doctor Who and there seems to be the usual mix of desperate wannabes with a tremendously overinflated belief in their own abilities

I've never watched any series of the Apprentice live having worked outside the UK from 2007 and only gotten into it about 3 years ago but me n the missus used to voraciously watch them. I'm a bit wary about starting to watch the shows live now as we regularly HAD to watch a following episode, or two, or three at the one sitting so I don't know if I even want to look at the candidates.

What does everybody think? Watch live or wait until all the episodes have been broadcast and are watchable in a binge session or two?

It is so much funner to watch it live.. You can join in with the hype on the forum and just all around, and get involved in discussions with people not just on the forum but in real life, and the result might be spoiled for you if you wait to watch it in a binge session.

Definitely watch it live I say.

Episode 3: Home Fragrance

3/14. The candidates have to prove they can sniff out a sale this week as Alan Sugar summons them to the Royal Exchange to reveal their latest task - creating their own range of home fragrance products. While one of the newly mixed up teams decides their signature scent should have an upmarket beach theme, the other plumps for something a bit more exotic, before both sets of would-be entrepreneurs attempt to sell their wares to the public, as well as trade clients ranging from luxury hotels to fashionable nightclubs. Unfortunately, the sweet smell of success might prove elusive as tempers flare when one candidate jumps in on a team-mate's sale, and the pricing strategies start to collapse under the pressure. But just who will be kicking up a stink in the boardroom?

Sounds good to me, I love the manufacturing task that comes early in the series.

Mixed Teams already? Sounds like one team dominates from the start...

Problem is I still don't live in the UKin a time zone 7 hours ahead so I won't be watching it 'live' I guess I'll have to watch it on catch-up the next day if I want to watch it episode by episode.

Not necessarily... The teams were mixed in Week 3 of Series 6, and each team had had one win

Sounds like one of the male candidates ignores the advice of LS to step up as PM in Task 2. Really can't wait for Tuesday and Wednesday, and I'll definitely be giving tonight a watch.
