I'm sure someone out there has worked out the dance which has contributed to the most eliminations in the history of Strictly!

Monkseal will know.
Got an odd feeling American smooth is one of the deadliest. Ive always thought samba struggles.

I would say if you are doing the samba dressed in pink you stand a good chance of elimination.

I added up the full list for all of the eliminations to date. I've included group dances as well, and couples eliminated in the final. The Samba seems to be by far the most difficult style of dance!

Viennese Waltz - 20
Freestyle/ Showdance - 20
Quickstep -16
Tango - 16
American Smooth - 15
Rumba - 14
Waltz - 14
Salsa - 14
Foxtrot - 13
Jive - 12
Cha Cha Cha - 12
Paso Doble - 11
Argentine Tango - 8
Charleston - 7
Swing - 4
Lindyhop - 1
Rock'n'Roll - 1
Fusion - 1

You got in one minute before me! Yours are probably slightly more accurate, presumably without the group dances and routines performed in the final. So only four couples were knocked out on an individual Viennese Waltz, but 16 were knocked out in a group Viennese Waltz week!

You have to factor in the number of times they have been performed though.

For example, the Samba has been performed more times than the Charleston, which is why it had a lower elimination chance in the link davegold posted.

My current stats have it as, in order of elimination probability :

1. Argentine Tango
2. Samba
3. American Smooth
4. Salsa
5. Charleston
6. Waltz
7. Tango
8. Rumba
9. Cha Cha
10. Quickstep
11. Foxtrot
12. Viennese Waltz
13. Paso Doble
14. Jive

As should be obvious though it's possible to look at the data and get slightly different results based on any number of choices about what you count (do you include finalists, how do you resolve weeks where everyone did the same dance, do you include finals, what's a fusion, what the hell happened in week 1 of series 1, does Gregg count as going out on just a Charleston or a Charleston AND a Cha Cha as both counted towards his score and public vote?) so it's not gospel. The order I'd say is a good indication though - I can't see much dispute that jive is the safest for example.

Do be careful with statistics. Some of the dancers are danced earlier than others and by more people.

There was no AT danced for example in Rounds 1 or 2. The easier dances get their pass rates boosted in the early rounds as only one team gets eliminated out of 15 or so. When AT comes in, the chance of elimination is closer to 1 in 5

So we need

In Round 3 which dance leads to most eliminations? AT will not feature.

I briefly misread the title of this thread as "Which contestant puts out most", and spent a second a tad concerned.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be funny with olivej (), simply pointing out to the OP and anyone reading that just because more people have gone out to a Samba, it doesn't necessarily make it the deadliest dance of the show.

From Monkseal's stats, it seems as if the men go out on the Cha Cha Cha and the women go out on the American Smooth. Why would the women be going out on the dreamy American Smooth? Lifts?

Perhaps deemed to have been dragged around by the male pro.

She's not the only one. These are celebs who went out in a two dance week so it could be either dance that put them out.

Incidentally, 50% of the males who went out on the cha cha cha, did so at the first elimination opportunity so that one really skews the stats.
With regards to the AS, it used to be done later in the comp so it was more likely that someone would be eliminated on it. Ali Bastian went out in the semi final despite scoring a perfect 50 for it and I think Patsy Palmer went out on a week when every couple did an American Smooth.
Lies, damned lies and statistics to quote a cliche .

I agree, this statistics should be more accurate when considered which dance of the competition is, what other dances are danced that week, or even which position of the leaderboard they are in. Ie, also if they dance two dances that week, should be either ½ point or just the dance of the dance off.

Too many variables!

For males I always think the Rumba is the kiss of death.

From the stats it appears that not many have actually gone out on it, but I wonder how many have been in the dance off.

Also the male celebs doing Rumba always get a mauling from the judges, so have their confidence knocked for the following week.
