Men In The Bottom 2 But Not Eliminated On A Rumba - 7

Christopher Parker, Julian Clary, Rav Wilding, Craig Kelly, Mark Benton, Ashley Taylor-Dawson, Patrick Robinson

Women in the Bottom 2 But Not Eliminated On A Rumba - 8

Esther Rantzen, Gloria Hunniford, Georgina Bouzova, Emma Bunton, Letitia Dean, Michelle Williams, Denise Van Outen, Abbey Clancy

It's also the dance where the average score for men and the average score for women are the closest.

Sort of tells you that the voting public are not keen on the rumba

Thanks for the amazing stats !!

I wonder if it has to do with the female pros being able to make it look amazing even if their celeb is average. Thinking back to Michael Vaughan's, he partnered quite well, but I remember it for Natalie - in a fantastic dress - being magnificent

The cha cha must be tough for non-dancer men at the start. If they're not naturally talented they look squirmy or mincey. The hip thing seems to defeat them and they don't get a skirt with lots of movement to help fake it.

I'm quite surprised to see the American Smooth so high on that list

It's usually a crowd pleasing routine so it's a bit surprising for me to see it high on the list.

NO surprises about the samba lol.

Interesting that quite a few of the female ringers went into the bottom 2 with a rumba (yes, in Abbey's case it was just a few dance classes and Natalie was the pure ringer, but still). Also, last year saw all the male actors get into the bottom 2 with a rumba (while Fiona didn't, lol!).

Another thing, judging by these stats they should give Anton an AS soon, one way to ensure that Judy will be voted off.

I'm not surprised Samba, Rumba and Salsa get lots of people out - if they're done well they can be fantastic, but a bad one can be awful! Rumba is my personal least favourite dance, because if it's bad it's stilted, wooden and boring. If it's good then great (eg. Rachel Stevens and Vincent).

Those stats are interesting.

I had always presumed that the Samba was a bannana skin dance, for both men and women, because of its rhythms, bounce etc. And I rarely see good Salsa's from both in general as well. I almost detest the Salsa (the Strictly versions anyway - not Salsas seen outside of the show), and I have only ever loved the Samaba when done by Pro couples.

Yeah a bad rumba can't even really go down the comedy route. It's just a minute and a half of cringe.
