Compare with the god awful dramatics from Sharon last Friday on EE. One was pantomime the other a dramatic performance.

Emma Atkins is always fabulous, but she excelled herself tonight. She is one of those actresses who makes others in scenes with her seem better, too.

I do so agree with you Aurora! Emmerdale's Charity (Emma Atkins) was amazing unlike Letitia Dean's hammy and panto Sharon in Eastenders. Emma is a fantastic actress. I truly felt for Charity the way she begged her family to stay by her. No matter how badly behaved Charity is I still love her.

To be fair Letitia Dean and Emma Atkins are completely different, one is versatile the other is just Sharon from Eastenders.
Emma Atkins is also a stage actress and I have heard that she has dabbled in radio acting, don't know if she has been in The Archers though. Letitia Dean has been in other TV shows but she always acts in the same way, that eyebrow, that pout and always wearing makeup, even when she is supposed to be without it for the storyline. Apparently Letitia Dean did do some stage work, well a musical, where everything is always hammy. |

Yes, she does play her well, but I'm glad everyone has turned against her

Declan trips her up her into a confession to the police about the insurance scam. Everything they had was paid for fraudulently. Lying to the police about who caused the fire, what she did to Rachel, Jai, Sam etc, She won't go to prison so instead she'll be broke, lonely and homeless. (At least for a few minutes until Cain comes to her rescue and Debbie forgives her again).

I like Letitia and I think she's great as sharon but I suppose some people feel the need to constantly have little digs at other shows/actors to feel superior. emma was amazing this week and I was all set to sing her praises but why can there not be a thread about a show without digs at other shows |

why does everything have to turn into a pissing contest on here? this thread is about how great emma was. not about Letitia.

I was agreeing with the person who originally brought Dean into this discussion.
It is not a pissing competition as you so eloquently put it. |

look I just despair at the soap wars that break out here. I love Emmerdale and Eastenders. I just wish there wasn't the constant need on here to belittle either of them.

Couldn't agree more - Emma Atkins was just fabulous this week, I honestly thought that scene where she reacted to all the accusations, "OH, I am the anti-Christ!", was just brilliant.

No one is comparing soaps! They are comparing actresses. It's quite simple

Then why compare actresses? Sorry, I don't get it. Emma Atkins has been fabulous, no need to put anyone else down.

I just caught Friday night's offering. I loved seeing Charity getting her comeuppance and being shunned by her entire family. Emma Atkins effortlessly displayed a whole range of emotions in those scenes and I loved seeing her alternate between fear, confusion, anger and vulnerability. Will it be Declan who abducts her next week or will Oates pull a humdinger out of the bag by revealing her captor to be someone like Sadie King- now that would be epic!

I'm just gonna say again that Emma Atkins was brilliant, and leave it there. Really looking forward to this week. |

I wonder if it is Cain who kidnaps her, he seemed very calm as he walked off, were the cogs in his head spinning? I still am putting Sam Dingle out there as a wild card haha
