Interviews with the actress who played Emma said she's in right up until the reveal of Lucy's killer but of course that might have changed.

There's a decent chance of Stan dying and I wouldn't be surprised if Nick's story ended in his actual death. Or he's back to kill Dot off....

Of course, they could kill Lauren off as reading between the lines, Jacqueline isn't certain to return, the Lucy story could be about killing that teen group off in some weird way.

Obviously Jim's death off screen will be next year after the 30th

Emma Summerhayes being killed as part of the whodunnit plot would be great, in my opinion. She isn't major enough to warrant a distraction from Lucy Beale's murder, yet she isn't minor enough to have no kind of impact. The fact that she is directly involved with the case would make it all the more interesting.

Oh dear I'm building myself up I might even be disappointed if this doesn't happen now!

Yeah I've said for ages that this should happen. And ultimately anyone could have a motive for killing off the copper!

I've always thought Emma could die, ever since she came into it. She is the type of character that always gets killed of in detective shows. Maybe she finds out who Lucy's killer is..

Rainie - drug overdose or again, killed by Lucy's killer

Hit the nail on the head. Emma is a disposable character and it would work.

Was that before Emma/Max?

I know the Emma & Max storyline wasn't originally planned.

I can't remember, it wasn't a long enough time ago for them not to know about Max even if it hadn't aired

How do you know it wasn't planned?

Presumably Nick dies as part of the 30th stuff. I'm looking forward to him coming back; I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I've always found him entertaining to watch.

One of DTC's interviews a while back!

Fair enough, it would be good to get Emma's backstory, even in a Lost style flashback
