According to this article, Nick Cotton will be "nastier than ever".

John Altman says he will be drawing on the demons from his own past for Nasty Nick's most harrowing scenes ever

The article also says "In his fifth return to Walford, Nick will surpass the plot to poison his own mother and steal her life savings."

John Altman emphasises that "“Murder’s been done before and I like to act new things and I haven’t been disappointed. These are new lows even for Nick and that’s all I can say.”

Bring on Nick Cotton's return this month

I must say this does interest me, mostly because Charlie is already there and we aren't entirely sure who is the good guy between them.
I know you'd expect Charlie to be good but I think because it will be to much of a cliche Nick will actually be good or at least the person you root for.

I say that, hopefully we don't end up with Nick threatening people with a chair leg again.

Wonder if it involves Ronnie's baby.

God help anyone who tries to take him away from her.

Oh boring. Leave Dot alone Nick. It was funny watching you and a seven year old plot against her, but the woman is like 200 years old now. I have a feeling this wont be entertaining, but I'll reserve judgement like you're supposed to.

Must surely be Nick's final return, John Altman is in his 60's now and June Brown is pushing on 90 surely he can't keep coming back every 5 years. It is getting a bit unrealistic seeing Nick comeback in his leather jacket all the time, John Altman is pushing pension age now, so maybe it is time to give him a grand exit. I think it would be fantastic if Nick was killed off on the 30th Anniversary of the show, 30 years after he started the show off with the Murder of Reg Cox.

Couldn't agree more. I'm bored shitless with the same old cliche "I've chaaaaaanged maaaaaa!"

Even with Charlie and his mum involved this time to put a new slant on it, the fact is John Altman will still be shit at acting so the whole storyline will be cringe inducing to watch

I think he might plan to take the baby away from her. But we're talking about Ronnie, she won't let him.

June Brown is 87, and is amazing for her age, both Dot and Nick are EastEnders legends, they can stay as long as they like, and come back whenever they want!:P

I am looking forward to Nick's return, however awful he is and whatever evil plans he comes up with he always makes me laugh

Of course they will. It is about completing the 30 year story. I personally think Nick will go down for Lucy but he didn't actually kill her. It will be him going down 30 years late for Reg Cox. Dot / Ian / Sharon will decide he goes down to protect who did land the final blow.

He has been in some quite dramatic scenes though, leaving the pantomime villain aside, the storyline where Dot and Pete Beale were trying to force him to come off heroin were quite dramatic, not having much knowledge about drug addiction at the time I didn't realise that it wasn't as simple as just not taking drugs anymore and he really did look ill, unfortunately being Nick he managed to slip out and murder Eddie Royal in the midst of his 'recovery'

'There are some things that Nick would just never say, so I had to change them because they didn't feel right.'

Who does he think he is? Babs? When she tore up her return episode script in September last year because the writing was awful and improvised?

John and Bab's are EastEnders royalty, they've probably been there longer than some of the writers, I don't blame them! Good on them, at least they stick up for what they think and are passionate

Agree with this, some people never change and Nick is one of them people he will be evil until the day he dies, the same as Phil will be it annoys me when people say Phil should be toned down because he is older, some people will never be tamed whatever there age. I just think Nick has had his day and i think the 30th Anniversary would be the perfect time to bring to an end his character.

I'm excited but wasn't DTC the story producer when Nick last returned and blew up the cafe?
