Ben Hardy vs Thomas Law
Which one plays Peter better?
Personally, I think Thomas Law was a much better actor, and more natural, and he just seemed more like an EastEnder, and Ian's son!:P I wish they'd of kept Melissa and Tom! |

NuPeter and NuLucy all the way! Yeah I would say that Thomas Law was a better actor than Ben Hardy is, but I like Peter's new characterisation and development with Hardy in the role as opposed to Law's Peter. Oh and I think that Hetti is miles better than Melissa, I really warmed to her.

They're both awful and the charatcer is a complete bore. Peter should have been killed off.

Deffo Ben. Tom's Peter didn't grow into a grown up Peter that well, think Ben is better actor too.

I liked Thomas better. I just can't warm to Ben at all.

They both have brought something different to the role. I never had a problem with TL's Peter, but he was quite underdeveloped; I like BH, and Peter has been more developed now that he's transitioned into adulthood. So, BH's Peter it is.

As a bit of casting Ben visually fits well as a son of Ian. The similarities are strong.
I know some think he is too posh but Ian has never been a chav. |

Ben is better than Thomas. Both are good, neither is excellent.

There's no point dwelling on the past Thomas was alright as Peter for his age at the time, but Peter is older now and I think Ben Hardy is more than capable of portraying the simplicity of Peter Beale.

Both quite good but Peter is so dull no matter which actor is playing him. I would have preferred Peter to die and Lucy to live as she was a more interesting character.

Thomas Law as a teenager did indeed look like Adam Woodyatt. It really was uncanny. The show itself even made a deal of it around the 25th Anniversary. By the same token Melissa was ideal as the daughter of Michelle Collins. They shared so many mannerisms it was surreal.
If they ever did one of those An Adventure In Space & Time /Road To Corrie type dramas about EE then Thomas would be ideal as Adam. Although as Thomas has got older the less he looks like Adam did at the same age. As for the question. Ben is Peter now but Thomas was also very good just as said underdeveloped. Melissa was always favoured so he never really got his moment. |

Thomas Law was more likable. His Peter was a lot more sympathetic and generally a nice guy.
Ben Hardy is arguably slightly better than Law was in the acting stakes but only on rare occasions. Most of the time he plays the character in a very wooden manner and the writers have turned the character into a snobby prick. I'm ready for the next version of the character to be honest. |

Ben Hardy I think he was a good recast, he just needs a bit more pow to his character at times.
