I love Nancy and think Maddy Hill is a great actress. She deserves to win awards.

Nancy's voice is deeper than Dexters, I prefer her when she's in the background. Dexter should move on to Lola.”

"Your kind"? Do you mean lesbian? Lesbians come in all shapes, styles and sizes. If you've ever gone past a female gay bar you would see that. As for saying "no offence" that's exactly what you've caused, offence.

I am not keen on what the wardrobe department dress her in. Maybe the basketball top with jeans would be better. She is a stunning woman in real life.

The baby voice and childlike mannerisms are getting a bit much. She's a nice girl with a heart of gold but she reminds me of a little kid most of the time. Good actress though.

I like her now but I don't like throwing her together with Dexter, who I will never understand was kept on following his boring parent's departure. The only thing that annoys me are those dreadful basket ball clothes.

I agree about the clothes being stupid , but that's on wardrobe not the character. I don't know may guys, young or older, that dress like Nancy. By all means make her different but at least be clued up. Nancy looks like a 90s tribute and a caricature of a tomboy. I keep waiting for the shell suit to make an appearance. That being said, I have no problem with the character in general.

I think she's meant to come across as quite child like in a way. She's always looking for attention it seems, as mainly Lee and Johnny get all the attention. I absolutely love her though!

I don't dislike her but don't understand the hype.

I love Nancy but I don't agree with this view. Mick especially gives her more attention than Lee and Johnny, and Linda fusses over her due to her epilepsy (and now, following the rape, worrying about her safety with men as well.)

I agree with some people on here saying that Nancy could possibly do with toning down the baby voice but apart from that I think she's an absolutely wonderful character and I really don't understand the criticism on this thread. Predictable, though, as she's featuring much more these days. People's negative attitudes always seem to come out when a character is on screen more.

She's focussed on the family business and is showing a good business head already. Music Karaoke was all her idea. She thought of it, designed, printed & distributed the posters, booked the compare as well as co-presented it. She is showing more ambition than many of the young people in soaps do. Plus it's not the usual stereotypical 'the only way to show that your ambitious is to go to university' that soaps portray either. There's many ways for ambitious young people to get ahead, and you don't need to go to university to run a pub.

I've never known an 11 year old to do all this, so I don't know where people have got that conclusion from either.

When I was her age I much rather stay in, watch a film, write and drink tea as well. In fact, I used to make up excuses in order to stay in when people asked me to come out to visit the local town's tedious night club.

There is nothing wrong with being introverted either. In fact I normally find that they are more interesting than extroverts. Introverts don't need an audience to posterise in front off in order to feel satisfied, they can make up their own entertainment without the need for for the mindless small talk & drivel from others, they are more likely to have something between the ears, they are more likely to be thinkers with a wide range of interests meaning you can have great conversations together, and form a relationship which could develop into something more. And that's another thing, Nancy isn't like Lauren, she doesn't just sleep with people just because she fancies them (although going with Dexter may change my mind).”

In an earlier post I made the comment that I thought Nancy acted younger than her age. My impression is not based on how introverted or extroverted she is or whether she not she conforms to the stereotypical view of 21 year old women. I feel that she acts younger than she is due to her general manner. For instance, when she was talking to Dexter she asked him if he 'liked liked her'. That sounded like something 13 year old Abi would say. At times she can be very mature but her juvenile speech and demeanour belies this.

I'm not so sure Nancy is introverted. She is an eager participant in the bar's activities and she organised musical bingo. I see her lack of socialisation as more of a lull in character development that needs addressing. An effort was made to integrate Mick and Linda into the community by having them make friends and participate in activities with other characters outside of the Queen Vic. Nancy and Johnny should be given the same opportunity to become independent characters rather than just Mick and Linda's children. I feel they have the potential to become interesting characters.

Okay now I understand what you mean. Everyone's entitled to their likes and dislikes. When I read your post I thought that you were complaining that Nancy was immature just because she didn't go out drinking every night. I misunderstood your post and I apologise. Sorry for the rant too
