I have a sony kdl42706b after just three weeks use it is stuck in standby and flashing the red led on the front three times over and over,
I have a replacement on the way, well (ten days) just wondering if this is a common fault or have I just got a duff one ?

No, it's a VERY uncommon fault - Sony sets are EXTREMELY reliable - but it's pretty poor service from your supplier to take ten days to replace it

I presume you mean a KDL-42W706B?.

Yes thats correct KDL-42W706B , cant understand why it takes so long for John Lewis to replace it but if you buy a new one it only takes a couple of days

If JL are replacing it, it should be same day, or next day - ten days is certainly crazy - unless of course they have no stock left, and it's not due in for ten days? (but that sounds pretty unlikely).

Did you collect it?, or did you have it delivered? - if it was delivered then that might be the 'next slot' available?, deliveries from large multiples are pathetic

Brought it online and there is an option to have it delivered to Waitrose so you don't have to wait in at home all day.

Just as a matter of interest, 3 flashes is a "BAXL board error".

I'm not really sure!

On older sets the BA board was the main processing board, so I presume the BAXL board is probably that plus incorporating one (or more) of the other boards.
