ED Cain "the women beater " ......
lolasofie
12-10-2014
I have noticed a bit of a trend involving Cain and women in his family , like the other night when it was just Charity and Cain in Home farm Charity asked if Cain was going to beat her up and then remarked "the new good Cain wouldnt hit a women "

I have watched Cain on Emmerdale since maybe 2004 and iknow in the past he has hit Debbie and Charity ........i also recall when Chas though Cain was staking her she said something like are you going to give me a good hiding and get it over with ...

I have not seen Cain in the very early years ,...i believe he arrived in 2000 ...is there a reason Cain is put across as a women beater or is it because he has hit Charity and Debbie a few times ? Is there more of a dept of violence against women in his past .

I also recall Cain saying how Declan had hit his own sister and how could a brother do that ( recently to Moira in the pub ) ....but yet Cain has hit women in his own family . Also when he fell out with Debbie last year and he told Moira what she said about the abortion he said he could have hit her and Moira asked if he did hit her and he looked shocked and said no .

Did he hit Angie or her daughter or just women in his own family ?
Thanks .

I just wish he would beat the whining Moira to death. More of her bleating on about her precious Adumb next week - yawn

I think he hit Jasmine when he heard about the abortion, she was overdue a slap from anyone though. I don't think he ever hit Angie or Ollie, but he did hit Len and knocked him down the stairs.

I don't recall Cain being a woman 'beater'. Like you say he gave Debbie a smack or two but I don't even remember him hitting Charity (not to say he didn't, I just don't recall it)

He didn't hit Jasmine. He grabbed her but Debbie got in between them and sent him packing.

I remember him grabbing Amy forcefully. I think he's more of an equal opportunities violent sort. He treats women like he does men when he's angry, roughly.

Think that must have been just before I started watching

I don't remember him ever being violent with Sadie and as far as I can recall (JR will know) he never hit Amy. I think he was a bit 'rough' with her, grabbing her ect (which is what he did with Jasmine) and threatened her loads but I'm pretty sure he didn't actually hit her.

Cain has never been the type of man who respects women tbh. He verbally abuses them, so it doesn't surprise me that he's been violent.

He was quite violent towards Amy on more than one occasion without resorting to full on striking. He pinned her up against walls a few times once by her wrists and manhandled her into a car.

But with it being either Amy Jasmine Debbie or Charity, the so called wonderful Cain is just a constant nasty vicious bully towards women that he knows can't physically fight back.

Cain had a nerve commenting on Declan. Declan was mentally ill, Cain is just a common thug.

Ah there you are No, I didn't think he actually hit her but I suppose compared to what he did do, hitting her would have been better!!

Couldn't agree more with your post. How people can hate Debbie and Charity but worship Cain is beyond me. IMO he's done far worse things than either of them

Indeed and he killed the Sharma cat

Cain has a temper but even when he is not wound up he can lash out , its just in him , i do recall Charity saying that Shadrach treated Cain horribly and often beat him ....not an excuse however .

its acually rare where a soap male character can hit women onscreen and yet still have a big fanbase and be loved .....its almost though as a Dingle its somehwhat acceptable .....

The audience never hate Cain it seems .

Not just them two but any characters in general.

But Debbie and Charity are Mother Theresa and Ghandi compared to Cain.

It's because he's apparantly fit. That seems to be enough for most to turn a blind eye to his actions.

I don't worship Cain or hate Charity. I just like them both as characters. Jeff Hordley and Emma Atkins can both act and can make their characters, even when being quite nasty deep down likeable.

Not sure if he hit them but he killed Sadie's dog in a fit of temper, because she refused a second round with him. Personally, I think that's far worse, I would much rather a guy punched me one than laid so much as one finger on my dog or caused her any harm.

I think people more likely root for Cain, over Debbie and Charity, because he has displayed vulnerability through the years. Yes he's done loads of bad stuff but I think that makes him more human. Charity and Debbie aren't quick to show that, even to the audience.
