What would you change?

Personally I'd bring back Tanya and Zainab, introduce a new middle and upper middle aged male character possibly a son for the Corkers and id get rid of Dexter, Emma, Yvonne and Tosh.

We all know this is going to change into a Dexter hating thread.

But I agree, I would love to bring back Tanya & Zainab. We're running low on mums.

why do people always say bring Tanya and /or Zainab back....the actors left because they wanted to, they both have careers and want to move on

I would like Zainab back. She would be good for Denise too at the moment

One return does need to happen and that is Zainab.

I don't hate Dexter, but they cant seem to be creative with him. He's a nice looking lad but there is little else to him. Maybe if Tanya was back he could become more part of the Branning family.

Both left because they wanted a break. Whose to say they won't say no to a return? When you're on the show for a long time you probably start feeling drained.

I would still count Rebecca and Cindy as children

I think there is a good spread of characters, would like to see a couple more in the middle. something different a professional young couple or a couple of singletons two lads sharing or something along those lines

Bring in an a sibling (probably a sister for donna) to help five he a chance for a storyline. Axe whitney, dexter, fatboy. Kill of alfie and brong afia back!

I don't miss Zainab at all. In fact, I'm surprised Massood never murdered her for being such an annoying, judgmental bitch.

Nina Wadia was great because she could do both comedy and drama and the Masoods are weak without her.

I think a lower middle age group could have been made as I don't look at Lee, Nancy, Whitney, Fatboy and Tamwar etc in the same light as I see Cindy, Liam and Rebecca etc.

I'm surprised people even acknowledge Rebecca. We've seen Bert and Ernie more than we've seen of her

There's problems with the cast... Problems that are bringing the show down!

Firstly, why are there SO MANY young cast members, EastEnders a show about adult and gritty drama has been bombarded by under 25 year olds, with poor writing and dull storylines! Would we miss them all? Nope...

Axe Abi, Lee, Tamwar, Dexter, Fatboy, Peter, and Nancy OR Johnny... I wouldn't really miss Lola either tbf!:P

Replace all of those with interesting, and likeable characters!

Preferably males, as the male cast needs seriously working on! Bring in characters like Steve Owen, Grant, Den Watts, don't bring in dull characters like Lee!

Secondly, the Carters, amazing family! But do we REALLY need so many of them? Tosh, Lee, Johnny and Nancy are all a waste! What I would like to see in the Vic is Mick, Linda, Shirley, Elaine, and ONE carter 'kid', but not Lee!:P all of those characters are well known and liked! (Except for Elaine), and I'm sorry but no one gives a SHIT about Nancy in the real world, despite how popular she is on digital spy, she's so annoying!

Family is another thing that really need working on! Kirkwood and Newman have destroyed the families! Get Charlie and Jean back and give the Slater's a proper profile in their house! Work on the Branning's, and try and get Jo Joyner back, which will tie in with an exit storyline for Abi! Get Zainab back for the masoods! Ffs the actress has said she would return! Are the producers STUPID?! she best return as a surprise!

The older cast seem to be ok, with no problems! About time we had some older cast members on the square!

I'm sorry but Aleks is so popular on here and I don't see why? I hope that he can **** off with his wife on Tuesday, because he's very unlikable and sneaky IMO! His character needs closure! Donna won't be missed, infact why is Donna even there? Tosh needs to go, awful character, who 99% of viewers don't like!

All in all, there's problems with the cast! We've lost too many big names! The cast is shit compared to what it was 2005-2010! There's just too many dull cast members and not enough vibrant, entertaining ones! A lot of the new characters supply is with no drama, and characters like Lauren who have SO MUCH potential just sleep around!

We've got a stable cast ATM, with no big names leaving, and some big names returning, but we need to get rid of the deadwood! I read through the cast list at times, thinking 'oh they're in it tonight, ugh' for a lot of characters! I shouldn't have to do that, I should be going 'yes, they're in it tonight, I can't wait, so entertaining', EastEnders need to take a good look at Emmerdales cast! Every character gets some sort of drama! The family units are stable! The cast work so well together! Half the EastEnders cast just don't work well together! There's a hide divide between the deadwood, and the big names! Which is why the deadwood need to go! Look at the soap awards, look how many dull EastEnders casters attended the ISA! Emmerdale do so much with their cast, and give them amazing, gritty storylines, yes EastEnders do that, but not as well IMO! And Emmerdale have got a new family coming in, which look very entertaining!

The cast is too big aswell, it needs trimming down a bit, characters appear in it for a few episodes then don't appear for two weeks, because there's about 60 cast members! We don't need them all!

I wont quote the above its too long but you want them to focus on and you mention bringing tanya branning back but to get rid of Abi? that wouldnt work. you would just have tanya and oscar then? lauren will be off screen on maternity leave and max will be with emma. how is that working on family?

i am sorry I don't agree with the majority of what you posted but think. i know where you are coming from.

all this rubbish aboutbig names, the big names are the likes of ann mitchell, barbara windsor, the actor who plays stan, danny dyer, who have all had huge successfull careers and are household names not the likes of people who have done nothing b4 eastenders but made the character memorable and then left to never be seen again.


as for all this deadwood, they aren't deadwood they are there as support cast and for filler and to bulk up scenes where needed if you didnt have the likes of dexter, lee, tosh, donna, tracy then the show would suffer. you wouldnt get scenes in the arches or in the market very often cos you need those background characters to interact with the ones in the main storyline. like jay and dexter in the arches, we would have to have jay talking/bantering with himself if there was no dexter

I wouldn't get rid of Abi, Abi needs to be explored! Dark Abi, after all she is a Branning and with her upbringing she's got to have a screw lose.

I think I'm the only EE fan who couldn't stand Tanya and her super hypocritical ways.

Despised Zainab too judgemental old bat who was supposed to be a devout Muslim yet she married the same man twice had an affair and married the other in the middle then left the first one and nearly married the second one again. Model citizen was Zainab

I preferred Tanya and Sharons friendship than Linda and Sharon. I don't know why they haven't tried to pair Linda up with Roxy.

in the wedding scenes with sharon they seemed jealous of each other both wanting to be sharons friend MOH and didnt want to share her

oh god I hated tanya and sharon as friends. tanya in particular. they were so vile and nasty especially to kirsty. so glad that is over tbh

No offence but how on earth are the 25 - 35 year olds (especially Dean and Stacey) classed as middle aged? And I'd hardly put Max in the upper middle aged category given he's barely a year or two older than Tina.

I was unsure of where to place Dean, Stacey, and Tina. So I went for over 65's as older, 40-65 for upper middle, 25-40 for middle, 15-25 for young and under 15 for children.

I wasn't sure how old Tina is but im sure Dean and Stacey are over 25. Max is well over 40.

I wasn't sure if Ronnie was 40 yet either and ive totally missed Billy Mitchell of the list
