Smart TV

I put this on the Advice thread but a helpful soul directed me here. I want to get rid of my BT vision and get a SMART TV, a tv with catch up - want all channels not just BBC IPlayer. Can anyone give me any tips or recommendations. I dont want a massive screen. I hear Samsung is good but their website is very slow. Thanks for any advice.

VERY few sets have ITVPlayer - so that limits you greatly.

However, 'SMART' sets aren't smart at all - you would get MUCH better functionality using a cheap external box, and much better performance as well.

I presume the BT box you have is not a YouView one? The YouView catch up facility will work even if you cancel the BT TV sub. As Nigel says you are unlikely to get a telly with catch-up remotely resembling what you get with YouView.

So if your current telly is OK one alternative would be a YouView box to replace the BT Vision box. At least if the main reason for getting a TV is for the catch-up services.
