EE: Walford

We all know about DTC's plan to bring Walford into 2014 with the introduction of the Albert and Blades... But do you think this has been successful? With a rebuild of the set ahead I'd have a few suggestions:

Ditch the car lot. Sitting on vacant land that's used to park 3-4 cars in an area like Walford wouldn't make sense when you could sell it for flats. This would let a future EP bring in new characters (full-time or part-time) from different backgrounds - young professionals, elderly people, social housing tenants - this would also shake up the community that is already in Walford!

I'm much less keen on the set that was added in 1993 (Turpin Road, George Street, Victoria Square). It looks a bit unrealistic and 'squashed' compared to the rest of the set. Instead of rebuilding it as an extension of Albert Square and Bridge Street, could the land be used to build other areas of Walford (like the High Street, a council estate, whatever!) that the characters could travel to for work, school, meeting family?

Add your own ideas!

There is actually a block of modern flats right next to the tube station, Bradley was trying to flog them when he was an estate agent and there are many empty houses/flats around anyway so I don't see the need of bringing in any more.

What they could do is turn the old post office/knocking shop/ discount store into a newEstate Agents and locate Max there. Then turn the car lot into a taxi rank run by the Slater/Moons.

They may be building more streets when they build the new set but Turpin Road should be kept in my opinion as it ensures there are several businesses in Walford which generates employment

I tell you what the Albert is a real success. It was absolutely rammed last night when I was in there, literally couldn't move for bumping into someone and I asked both of the other people in there who agreed completely.

One of them happened to be the barwench, bolshy looking blonde she was. I think she was preparing her Halloween costume a bit early, she was serving drinks in this Bride of Chucky style wedding dress with blood all over it. Right dashing she looked, and I know a decent bit of skirt when I see it.

Being a bit of a chancer that I am I asked whether she had a family and that (bored, needy, married women are my absolute speciality as you all know.) Turns out she's got a bloody good looking 6ft tall hardman of a husband, built like an absolute brickhouse , and her son is in the kitchen eating a biscuit.

She did mention that if I fancied an affair we should meet in her massive bar as no one will ever discover us there. Think I might take her up on that.
