Hah!! I've simply posted this for a laugh.
But, seriously - it's getting ridiculous, the amount of times I/We come on here and it's ablaze with comments about EE ! 20 threads on one page I counted at one point! Not one of them was of any interest!
Give EE another section, like DW has - and leave the rest of us alone!
If it's sooooo "popular' it deserves one!!

I won't be upset if this thread is deleted (to keep the EE fans consoled!). But please give it a while for a few interesting and proper comments!

If it's deleted it won't be to console EE fans.

I love the Easties but it is getting ridiculous!

The good old Emmerdale folk do all their chat in one or two big threads. Past and Present and the Emmerdaily.

no one would have a problem with multiple threads started by anyone other than eastenders though. It's always the same old attack on Eastenders fans on here. It's getting old.

Sorcha I agree with you but some posters don't help by starting threads that could be addressed in an existing one or within the daily episode one. Do you agree?

I have actually been waiting for a comment like this and surprised it took so long.

I actually agree and disagree with you. I think it is common curtesy to just have a check first to see if the comment you want to express could fit into an existing thread. But you cannot put all the ee fans in the same boat.

On the other hand, there is so much going on in Eastenders right now and it's popularity is rising that you have to expect that there will be a lot of threads about it,

The multitude of threads does annoy me, but it annoys me even more that EastEnders fans are constantly insulted/mocked on here (in threads that aren't even about EastEnders as well, making it difficult to discuss other soaps.) Yes, those who constantly create threads for every single thought they have don't help, but that very small group of posters (and it is the same posters over and over) doesn't represent EE fans as a whole and shouldn't be used to stick to beat us with.

You're certainly right, it's something that fans from all soaps are guilty off. But I can see why fans of the other soaps must be put out, there is so much going on in a Eastenders right now so there has been a multitude of different threads. People seem more passionate about Eastenders I find too.

Thread title prefixing would be helpful but DS runs on an ancient version of the forum software that doesn't easily support it.

A fair few members from here past and present have joined another forum where threads are categorized as EE/CS/ED etc. and it works really well.

Well said, Eastenders fans are regarded as the lowest of the low sometimes on here.

What forum is that?

I think you should change your name to Face of Dot if you still want to post here!

I can see both sides. I think the inter soap sniping and snobbery gets rather tedious but equally there are some EE posters who like to start threads that replicate others which could get annoying for some. I can't say I've seen it so much with the other soaps.

I personally have started several threads today about various different aspects of the show, I could think of several more different subjects on EE to start new threads if you'd like.

I watch all four big soaps and currently all I think to talk about is EE and ED.

The best way to do it would to just have sub forums than everyone would be happy. Will not happen though.

I disagree, I watch all the soaps and so many people, so a mixed soap section is easier to see all the discussions.

I think subforums would hurt the community rather than help it.

I have noticed an increase in multiple threads, unecessarily bumping of old threads and quite frankly pointless threads when it comes to EastEnders recently.

just after midnight and early this morning was ridiculous following the martin recast news. instead of posting to an existing thread people were just starting a new one saying exactly the same thing!

but its not just a one off and not just EE some posters choose to start a new thread rather than add to an existing one. it is really annoying.

Its only because everybody is talking about it and the storylines that it seems to have more threads. seige week in emmerdale had loads of threads and well corrie hasnt for a while sure something will happen soon

its all swings and roundabouts no sub forum is needed just a bit of thought and courtesy from everyone

Therein lies the solution. If ITV produced Coronation Street better more people would talk about it
