Hello, we cannot find the answer and hope you can help?

We are pensioners and yesterday purchased the Sony KDL-48W605B. In the store the Sony rep showed us the benefit of the X-Reality PRO within this TV and we were sold.

We CANNOT find out how to turn that element on, the X-Reality PRO function and or does it only work with say DVD's? We have a hard drive recorder but just Freeview. In the store he showed us with the X-Reality PRO element working and not working. How do we turn that facility on?

Many thanks from two thick old pensioners.

It is probably turned on already. The default for the reality option is 'Auto' and can be found near the bottom of the 'Picture' screen.

The 'Picture' screen can be found by a click of the 'OPTIONS' button.

Within the ‘picture’ screen the 'reality' option is accessed by paging down using the down part of the black ring on your remote that is positioned immediately above the blue 'HOME' button.

To adjust picture settings for just VD (for eample you will need to first make sure that the TV is switched to your DVD HDMI input. Then when you are in the 'picture' settings make sure that the 'Target Inputs' is set to 'Current'. 'Target Inputs' can be found at the top of the 'Picture' screen.

If you want to adjust for all HDMI inputs and the TV's own tuners then when you are in the 'picture' settings make sure that the 'Target Inputs' is set to 'Common'.

For devices connected by scart the reality setting is not active and cannot be made active.

(The Picture screen and alot of other stuff can also be found by a click of the blue HOME button on the remote, and this will eventually display a screen where the setting options are accessed through the icons at the top right of the screen. The settings icon is the one on the top row 3rd from the right. Select it and a drop down menu will appear.
The display settings are accessed using the first option in the 'settings' drop down menu. Within the setting’s drop down menu you want the 'picture' option which is displayed right at the top of the list.)
