netflix: sign up for free trial using TV or laptop?

I hate smart TV menus - hard to input typing. If I sign up for the one month free trial of Netflix using my laptop, will it be simple to log into the netflix app on my TV, or is it better to sign up using the TV app?
Sorry if a thick question. My Sony is my first smart TV.

It would be easier to sign up online.
It will still be a pain signing into the tv app though.
I think you can have up to 5 devices on one account.

You can have more than 5 devices linked to your Netflix account, but you are restricted to how many can be used at the same time.

£5.99 - SD and 1 device streaming
£6.99 - HD and 2 devices streaming
£8.99 - HD and up to 4 devices streaming

I think thats how it is, as I know that there is no device limit as I have over 12 devices that can all use Netflix in my home, but obviously not at the same time.
