I thought loads of people were hating EE at the moment, and I was puzzled as it's the best it's been in years.

But it just appears that you are a very prolific poster lou_123.

EastEnders is the best its been for 4 years. If you are trying to find negatives out of the current set up then I suggest you cast your mind back to the Eddie Moon summer or the missing pieces of ham storylines in order to remember what genuinely crap storylines actually are.

There are a few things that it can improve on but it's highly entertaining at present, we have a strong cast and good storylines. I have not enjoyed it this much in several years and I hate when I cannot watch it live instead of the times I would put off watching it.

Haha the Eddie Moon summer was much worst:P I don't think it's as good as people like to make out though!

and you're perfectly entitled to your opinion but you shouldn't assume you speak for everyone. I really don't get what u expect from the show tbh.

It's improved no end since we've moved away from Phil's sexual prowess. There's pretty much nothing that I don't like and I can't see that changing anytime soon.

it's as close to classic eastenders as I remember it but kirkwood nearly destroyed it and that damaged it to this day

Depends what era you were brought up with. 2006-2013 as a whole is a very different beast from the first twenty years, and as far as I'm concerned right now is back to the original EastEnders, a real classic feel has been injected to the show.

I have extremely few negatives to say about EastEnders at this moment in time, I'm delighted to say.

Best it's been since Santer left to be honest.

Great cast, genuine surprises unfolding on screen and interesting short and long term plots bubbling away.

The negatives: I'd get rid of Dexter and Fatboy, but they are the obvious negatives most people have pointed out. There are some characters crying out for plots - Nancy, Cora, Pam and Les, Donna - but I'm sure there are plans for them.

Generally I disagree with your opening post OP, there aren't 'Sooooo many' negatives.

Times change though, things move forward.

negatives are prop Tina and Tosh or Max and Emma, both tedious relationships

Hm I'm not too sure, when I look back on 1985 and 2001 episodes in youtube, it's lacking.

The Santer era and I just think the cast and drama was better and it was more appealing, I think there's too much focus around the under 25 year olds now, and too many cheesy scenes, there are some good plots and characters but I don't feel it's enough.

True, but it doesn't feel like the show is evolving well, compared to other soaps like Emmerdale, which has evolved fantastically.

It has though. Compare the episodes to what we were getting this time last year, in 2012, 2011 etc.

There are negatives still.

Roxy tonight was a prime example, what is DTC's plan for her? She is going around and around in circles.

Simple...

Like I have suggested, get rid of a few boring cast members to shorten the cast, and then it will be easier to enjoy characters and think of storylines, rather than about 60 characters having to share the show!

Can I ask, is it full episodes you are watching on youtube or only the prominent stories? Also, out of pure curiosity, when did you start watching?

As it goes, I feel there are still a few things that need to be sorted with eastenders but it has definitely became more enjoyable this year, rather than being a chore to watch.

you say compared to 1985 it is lacking and you dont like the focus on the under 25's but in 1985 and the early years the under 25's were a big part of the show, Ian, Sharon, Michelle, Mark, lofty.
