Corrie's stunt in the new year
It's been reported that Corrie are set to air a stunt in early 2015 that will affect about a dozen or so characters. Will Blackburn have the bottle to actually kill off a couple of long standing characters or will it be a damp squib where we have one or two characters in hospital for a week and then it's all forgotten about? He controversially killed off the seemingly untouchable Carl King in Emmerdale so will he actually think outside the box again by doing something similar here? I reckon the stunt could either have something to do with the new community centre that Yasmeen Nazir is spearheading or else be connected in some way to Tony Stewart cutting corners on his latest building project...

Another stunt? I don't see any long term characters being killed off. It will probably be another fire or something that will put Tim in hospital, Maddie realises she isn't a Lesbian and is in love with him and Kevin realises he still loves Sally.

If only it would result in the demise of the vile Sean Tully then it will all be worth while, but I know that is just wishful thinking.

If it is to do with a Current Storyline, the only one I can think off which could cause a disaster is the Kylie Storyline.
Could she start growing something at the Platt's, and it all goes wrong, and causes an explosion, or some kinda siege happens at the Platrs. But I think Kylie will be gone. By January. Roy Cropper h just popped into my head, it has been suggested that he has a tough time at CHristmas, could we see a fire at Roy's Rolls. |

It never fails to amaze me how Sean has survived producer after producer- Kieran Roberts, Tony Wood, Steve Frost, Kim Crowther, Phil Collinson and Stuart Blackburn. Why have they all failed to see how redundant he is as a character?!
If any character does bite the dust in this latest disaster it'll probably be someone who's just been introduced in the past year like Michael Rodwell or one of the Nazirs. |

Is the Stunt more likely robe away from the .Street, after spending all that time buiilding the new set,c isn't it too soon, to end up. Damaging parts of the set.

I really don't know what the stunt will be, but I can't see it being anything great... My guess is a coach crash with a dozen characters on or something.

I always think that stunts that take place on location allow TPTB more scope to be spectacular- look how well this worked for Hollyoaks when they did the wedding day disaster back in 2012 and more recently when we had the lakeside showdown between Charity and Declan. What about the bunch of characters from the Street on a coach going to/ from some big event? They are on a windy country road when all of a sudden Callum and Kylie- who are in a stolen car and are high- happen to be on the same stretch of road. They narrowly avoid colliding with the coach but the coach veers off the road and crashes, leaving a number of lives in the balance.

I doubt they will kill a long standing character, looking at other soaps who have killed off popular or long running characters it has left a lot of people feeling pretty raw.
I depends what the stunt is and who it involves, we'll probably be able to work out who will be the most likely victims if more departures are announced in the next few months. Going by the current characters it could be Michael Rodwell (can't see Les Dennis sticking around for a long time), Andrea, Rob Donovan and Katy Armstrong. And perhaps a character who has been in it 2 weeks or a random extra (like the unnamed taxi driver and our beloved Toni). |

I wouldn't mind seeing the back of Michael or Andrea- her love triangle was probably the show's lowest point this year. Rob is exiting at the beginning of November when the truth about Tina's murder is revealed and Katy is not being killed off, according to Blackburn.

Although I doubt Katy will die, anything can change. After all they promised Michelle Keegan the door was left open, but then chose the horrible affair and murder instead. But maybe they have learned their mistake. |

I'd LOVE for Sean to go - what purpose does he serve now? We've seen him father a child, have various relationships, work in both the factory and the pub, seen his dad, what does he seriously offer and what else new can happen to liven him up (in fact Corrie writers, please don't, his acting is shocking).
If not Sean, Maddeh, even if there will be a 10 minute period of Sopheh screaming her name out (I'll Sky+ it and x30 it). Or failing that, the young girl who lived with Tina (for 5 minutes but apparently was basically like a sister to her boo hoo) and her brother - pointless much!? I'm not that fussed about a stunt actually - an off screen train crash with no other casualties will do me, or a sudden and very specific virus. |

The Windass/ Armstrong clan have had enough misery heaped on them this year with their financial woes without killing off Katy as well. As jazzydrury3 said, she'll probably just leave the Street with Joseph (when did we last see that child BTW?!) and her mother when she realises how deadend her life on the Street is.

Perhaps Todd will be a casualty. He has done all the villainous requirements like stealing, scheming, trying to steal someone else' partner, perhaps Barlow Buys goes up in flames or something. Maybe Tony Stewart could die, I can't see the producers having him and for the long haul. He saves Todd and dies, and Todd is given the cold shoulder against by his family. |

I'd hate for them to kill off Eva. She's a great character with energy, compassion and humour who's criminally underused IMO.

I don't know why they have to announce these things in advance

I guess they want to ensure viewers in advance but the element of surprise is what's sorely lacking on the show right now. Hollyoaks do shock moments far too often now to the extent that all power ia diluted but Emmerdale and Eastenders get it right more often than not when they air surprise twists.

Ah I hope not, Eva is one of the few characters I like and I find actually likeable.

That would be a good way of writing her out. I just hope they don't split her and Jason up.

In comparison to Phil Collinson, Stuart Blackburn has killed off relatively few characters during his tenure. Hayley and Tina are the only ones I can think of.

Blackburn has stated that the stunt is going to take 22 days to film and will stem from a "relatively long running storyline." Could he be referring to the financial problems of the Windass/ Armstrong clan here? Tina's murder plot is set to conclude in the next fortnight so it can't be related to that. Another option could be Tony's dodgy schemes. What do folk think?
