To be fair a lot of people won't get that reference. Sure in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx-WoMdBfV8 these seniors don't even understand what she means by 'my anaconda'.

Physical copies of the album in the UK come with an instrumental version of "Anaconda"

I won't be buying the album. It lacks any direction, any creativity and apart from the singles, it's extremeley forgettable. Perhaps my most disappointing album of the year.

No she's not.

Nicki Minaj is one of the few mainstream pop artists who can actually shock a bit. So much else simply confirms to safe, 'middle class' values. Her last couple of videos play with the tropes of modern sexuality. And she has a better sense of humour than most of her contemporaries.

I LOVE the Album probably up there with Pink Friday in terms her best album imo so many stand out tracks.

There's an article here that discusses the album: http://www.sotouk.com/2014/12/nicki-...kprint-expect/

Lacks any direction? What?

This album is easily her best. She stayed away from pop overall which is brilliant. The lyrics are phenomenal, the flow is just beautiful throughout the whole album. This is magnificent.
Best album of the year for me, by far.
Wish Lookin Ass was there instead of Anaconda, but that was the labels choice. Grand Piano is just amazing.

i recieved my album from amazon, it has he instrumental of 'anaconda' even though i contacted them on the website last week and the person said their stock was no affected
they have just given me a refund, even though the person i spoke to clearly does not understand what i am saying about the CD and that amazon should be aware of the issue.

i take it its another service centre in some far flung country !

The Crying Game is absolutely brilliant, have listened to it five times in a row. Jessie is fantastic and it has the sincerity and emotional punch that Pills and Potions just didn't deliver for me.

Get on Your Knees is hot as hell, should've been a single already and Trini dem Girls is a jam. I Lied is another raw and emotionally gripping song. I don't know, this album is a lot to swallow in one listen, I still need to finish my first listen through. But so far, I really love it - there's so much going on here. But I feel like she's showing sides of herself she hasn't before, which is cool.

I've managed to narrow it down to my top 11 in no particular order;
All Things Go
I Lied
The Crying Game
Get On Your Knees
Feelin' Myself
Trini Dem Girls
Anaconda
The Night Is Still Young
Pills 'N' Potions
Bed Of Lies
Grand Piano

This album is so great that it's hard to pick a favourite song.

I am sure it will be a big hit for her and consolidate her status as one of the most prominent artists.

looking unlikely - only managing No 21 in Friday's midweek chart.

Ouch! I never normally comment on chart positions but that's quite poor, although not entirely unexpected for this particular time of year, ill be interested to see weather it maintains a steady chart run, or just sinks without trace...it could go either way, i can't quite predict it myself.

I do like the album though, it definitely kept my interest more than her previous albums did on the first few listens, its not quite as OTT, But when it comes to choosing singles, its quite a tough choice i think as there is not much on The Pinkprink that screams of massive hit in my opinion.

Really looking forward to seeing her in April though! I love her live shows, they are great fun!

There hasn't been much hype or buzz surrounding the album at all. I can't say I am shocked it is not doing well in the UK. Anaconda was successful but I don't think people are aware she has an album out.

It's looking to sell 170k in the US, which is down from the 250k that Roman reloaded managed. But considering this time of year when sales are normally huge, that is a slight decline. But let's see how it does in the long run.

She is releasing in a busy time of year where sales are high had she released this near the start of the year it would have easily gone top 10 I think she is more focused on the US than over here with this album anyway and it should enter the top 5 over there.
