I thought Robert getting fired for refusing to be PM was a bit unfair. The likes of Daniel did much more harm to the team's performance. Robert (as well as Solomon and Nurun) simply realised this was a totally impossible task, and that even the winning team would only scrape through. Why would any of them want that on their record? It's not "bottling" if you're doomed to failure from the start.

It wasn't just because of that, it was also because Robert had a narrow escape the previous week.

Robert was on thin ice at it was after last week. Refusing Lord Sugar's implied instructions to lead the team, especially in the snobbish-sounding manner that he did, was basically the same as jumping up and down on that ice with spiked shoes.

That said, I can't help but wonder whether or not Robert might have been onto a hiding onto nothing with Sugar anyway. Robert was very adamant that he wanted to make niche, luxury goods, and Sugar's background is more in mass-market consumer products (technically property and private jet hire too, though I think his sons mostly handle those), so that was probably never going to be a match made in heaven.

It wasn't an 'impossible task' by any means. Solomon had a much more suitable idea and it was much more likely to sell than the product that they had. In fact his idea would have been so much easier to pitch, and defend (looking at Daniel). Lord Sugar was annoyed because Robert saw the task as beneath him and not in his league, added to the warning he had last week. He wants to do high luxury products but cannot produce a cheap(er) product to sell, nor manage the team. Also on You're fired, he admitted that he didn't want to put himself forward, because of what happened in the first week.
