Getting different feedback from people that varies from pretty good to poor picture quality and/or constant buffering.

What's it really like?

Shockingly bad on a roky2 with fibre connection. Yet Netflix etc works perfect. It's very frustrating!

Extremely good on Roku 3, Now TV Box, PS4 or Xbox One here in Germany (via Smart DNS), so I'm not complaining.

Video quality doesn't reach the best that Netflix can throw at us, but it still reaches 720p in most cases.

Have only used it for sport a couple of times, picture quality is OK but did have some buffering at times but this was a couple of months ago so it may be sorted now (unless someone knows different?)

I've had no problems with it, lower than BBC HD over sat, slightly poorer that BT Sport on Chromecast, but a hundred times better that ITV4 SD.

Fortunately it's pretty cheap to test. If you already have a device to watch on (consoles/roku/apple tv) get a 10 pack of Carling which comes with a free day pass, or look around eBay for someone selling one, about £4 these day.

I had a 24 hour sport pass and was quite happy with it. I had to restart it once which is quite good compared to streaming BT sport which can fall over regularly when a high profile premier league match is on. Both streamed through a Apple TV that streams Netflix, BBC I player and loads of other stuff without any problems.
