What would happen if the girls didn't get any orders too?

I was really excited because I was expecting both teams to not have any sales, then boom, 250 sales. Totally ruined the tension.

Also, I just thought of a product! I'm not sure if its do-able.

sales...what sales. They dont really have a product. Did they even talk about prices? how much did the jacket cost. How much was the price tag. No one mentioned price tags and costs. Even the shops did not ask this basic question. It was the biggest sham in a scripted porgram.

I have wondered that in the past - what would happen if both teams got exactly the same number of sales, or made the same amount of money, or otherwise were completely equal in whatever team was being used to judge the task. I think that Lord Sugar would just assess which team he felt did a better job generally, and award them the win. If that had been the case last night, I think the girls would still have won, just about.

The orders aren't real but that doesn't make it scripted. The buyers say what they would order if it was real.

In the invention task they never refer to prices. it's all about whether a product would sell, not how much it would sell for.

Really?! Lol, they already exist - they're called transitions lenses and they have been around for YEARS!

I think in Apprentice USA Season 3 they had a task were both teams lost and both teams were brought back to the boardroom. I think The female PM and Male PM would be told to pick 2 people to bring back and 6 would be in the final BR

Was that the one where he sent one back to the hotel,
Spoiler
then fired the remaining 5?

Spoilers just in case.

Unless it was too late in the process to have a double firing (ie they wouldn't have enough candidates for the interview process) I think he'd probably get 3 in from both teams and he'd fire one from each. If it was too late for that he'd choose one from the six. That would be the fairest thing to do I think.

The treat would just be cancelled and there would be no winning team that week.

It'd only be on a task like last night's (where they are pitching to Trade for units ordered) that it could happen I think. Because they can win by pence in selling and buying tasks and the advertising and marketing ones are purely down to which Sugar (after advice from industry experts) prefers the chances of getting ex*ctly the same result are miniscule.

I vaguely remember that as well which is where I might have got my idea of how they'd handle it from.

I do remember the USA one when Trump fired 3 or 4 people in one go but they had performed really, really badly.

Nope that was either season 4 or 5

I think it was the one were they had to do a advert and the ones teams advert came off as soft gay porn while the other also looked like a porn advert. I think. I think he ended up the female PM

They've covered this in former series, the products are made to sell at a certain RPP - e.g., I believe the fitness devices in series 5 were £30.00. They didn't make a meal of it this time round, but they do standardise the price point, so 250 sales for team A are worth the same amount as 250 sales for team B.

OMG that brought back memories.

I loved Bren, one of my all time fave candidates on The Apprentice US.

I don't believe for a minute the girls got any orders. I think neither team sold anything and the producers just flipped a coin to decide which team should go and made up a lie that one team had got orders.

If both teams actually did end up with zero orders, it would have made far more drama for them to have both lost. And with twenty candidates, there'd have been plenty of latitude for one firing from each team, or even Robert, Scott and whoever got the blame on the women's side.

I just don't believe that anyone would have expressed an interest in that abomination that the girls came up with.

But it was still better than the pervy Xmas jumper!

I guess if it had been a tie, then Lord Sugaryness would have chosen who won.

That's what I mean. I don't think either team got any orders and Sugardaddy decided (off-camera) which one had to go. There is no way that a buyer who had any self-respect would choose that thing that the girls came up with. If they did - then the person that put that order in for 250 of them should be fired immediately!

I've got a pair of normal glasses that can change to sunglasses. It's called 'Reactolite'

Ooh! I've had the best idea... a T-shirt version of Secret Signals! So you just need to press a button and the image on your chest changes, and the people you're with will see that and notice that it's a special message!

Yes I agree. Also those people we saw being pitched to really do exist as buyers for the places stated (eg John Lewis) so they would be able to complain or even sue if they'd been represented as having ordered something crap when they didn't. They have a professional reputation as well.

Which company did put the order in for them - does anyone remember (I don't want to put myself through the purgatory of watching it again) If someone lets me know - I'm going to contact them and say I want to buy one.

At one of the girls pitches, I forget which, the retail buyers said it would need some redesign. It could have been them that placed the small order.

The idea Sugar made the choice in a covert way by awarding fake orders doesn't make sense, and also falsely represents the judgement of the retailer who supposedly made them. If there is a tie it would be much more transparent, not to mention better TV, if Sugar made the win/loss decision in the boardroom. Other tasks, such as the advertising task, are decided by him in that way.

It would be hilarious if there were two double-firings so 4 people gone in a week. Ha.

It was Firebox - they do gadgets via mail order.
