They probably only ordered the prototype and didn't want to invest the money to finesse it for sale - it's not as though Sugar or the BBC would put the money forward to do it would he!

It does make it hard to prove they did they place the order though. I'm only going on having worked at some of the ad agencies used in previous tasks and knowing that those people are real and not misrepresented in the programmes.

There have actually been odd occasions when the sales have been real. The calendar task in Series 2 and the ice-cream task in Series 4 had actual sales to the trade. I'm not sure if there have been any more - there possibly have without it being emphasised.

I would imagine if it was a 'tie' then Alan would pick which of the products was the better one like he has done in the past making a decision after getting feedback from the industry 'experts'

Right, I like the garment with the solar panels on the shoulders. It's just the sort of thing that floats my boat, I'm buying one.
If somebody can just post a link to where I can buy one I can then just post my order? So, has anybody got a link please?

I think the closest we ever got to a tie was in series 3 or 4 during the buying task when the winning team won by 92p I think it was?

If the two teams were tied on a few hundred or few thousand orders he'd probably do that, yeah. Maybe by picking which team's product fit the original brief better, or something like that. But if it was a tie on zero orders, I think we'd be looking at both teams losing and one person from each team getting the chop.
