Anytime i've seen an ipad for sale on Amazon it's usually Amazon Marketplace that sell them. I would prefer to buy from Apple!

If you wait until Black Friday Apple will probably sell the 64gb Ipad Air 2 for £439. That was the price of the 32gb Ipad Air last BF. It's only for one day though!

Yes, Black Friday is a great day to get something from Apple. Worth marking it on a calendar for.

Apple will limit the discount to a selected range, but you can be sure that will include the iPads. In fact, I hope it might also include the new iMac which I'm very tempted to get, but really should be able to wait a month for!

I bought my present iPad Air last year on black Friday but I can't remember when that is! November???
I'm lusting after the Samsung Galaxy S tab now though! Once again Apple hardly changes a thing....

Theres no other tablet which can match the Ipad right now.

November 28th, so Google says.

Think I might wait until then before buying the new iPad.

I was also hoping for a better upgrade on the mini, at least matching A8X chip, tempted to just go back to the full size and get the iPad Air 2.

Just wondering now how much I can get for my 4 month old 32GB iPad Mini 2 now

I doubt that the Air 2 will be shortlived like the iPad 3.

The iPad 3 was just a deliberate stop-gap, IMO.

Apple needed to release something a year after the iPad 2, but as the A6 wasn't ready until later in the year (beginning the new tradition of the iPhone getting the new A chip before the iPad, instead of the other way round like it used to be) we instead got the underpowered iPad 3 with the A5X (stupidly marketed as "the new iPad") .

The iPad 4 with the A6X (stupidly marketed as "iPad with Retina Display", even though the 3rd gen. had Retina first) wasn't just a case of Apple shifting the release to the more lucrative "holiday" period, it was what the iPad 3 *should* have been.

The Air 2's no stop-gap. It's not a *huge* upgrade, but it does have a jump in internal specs as well as a change in size. Far more of a jump than the iPad 3...

Still trying to work out for sure if the iPad Air 2 has 2gb RAM?

If you have web pages that cause Safari to quit/reload tabs, you're browsing wrong.

What is "wrong browsing"?????

IOS 7 had a Safari hard limit of (AFAIR) 15 open tabs. This seems to have been removed in IOS8 and I think I currently have well over 20 tabs (which I should really bookmark more!!!)

Store is down. I hope everyone is ready to join the stampede with their credit cards. iPad Air 2 for me it's a no brainer upgrade from last years model. Touch ID, massive performance improvements in CPU and graphics, 2GB RAM, incredible camera - both stills and video.

Must admit, I've been looking to upgrade my iPad 3 - I was contemplating a mini, but with the specs staying more or less the same, seems like its going to be a bit long in the tooth. Itching to get my hands on the Air 2 instead!

It's an attempt at humour, based on "You're holding it wrong".

One small step for Apple, means one more step next year for mankind. GSMARENA had it with 1GB Ram but some of it looked a copy and paste job from the iPad AIr 1.

How many of the 20 have actually been killed and become bookmarks, needing reloading when you next click on the tab?

Still not known yet.
"iOS doesn't actually need any more memory aboard so as to provide an adequate user experience. Still, if it came with 2GB, the tablet would have been a lot more future-proof."

I am going abroad for 6 months.
My iPad Air will be my lifeline.
To be on the safe side, should I buy a new iPad Air 2?
I use my iPad Air all the time, it is now 12 months old, my worry is, it will conk out while I'm abroad in fairly remote parts.

Highly unlikely.

If Apple makes such good products I have to wonder why someone would fear a device about a year old would fail, and if it WAS likely to, would go and buy a new one...

Seems like a weak excuse to justify a totally uncessary new purchase to themselves

Something for many to be thankful about, though the Nexus 9 matches it for black bar videos on a 4:3 screen the missing SD slot and off-putting memory upgrade prices.
Lets see if Google manage to increase crashing by 400%

You two are the worst baiting trolls on here, how have you not been banned?

Excuse me? My comments was totally valid. If you don't have faith in a product lasting a whole year, why would you be asking if you should buy a new model?

As said, it's a poor way to justify an upgrade, as I can't believe for one second that an iPad would suddenly break in such a short time. My iPad 2 is still doing just fine, if somewhat slow these days.

Or, wait, was it you trolling me and seeking to get me banned? Ah, yes. That'll be it.
