I watched two episode this morning from Tuesday and Wednesday and I am really confused about Carmel going to police to report sonny with the phone and wanting Theresa freed because Sonny is a 'bent' cooper. What difference does that make to Theresa killing Calvin? Which she did! I know they need to get her off some how but I don't understand. Help, it's frying my brain.

Im not sure BUT it could be that by exposing Sonny as a 'bent' copper it might mean the evidence that he had that put Theresa away is inabmissable as he is exposed as a 'bent' cop

if that makes sense........

to be honest I have no clue, she still killed Calvin and needs to serve her time but this is Hollyoaks and the McQueens

They are trying to say Theresa was tricked into confessing by Sonny. The video on the phone proves she was tricked into confessing.

But I also don't understand how that helps, I think they are trying to say that Theresa didn't kill Calvin but she was tricked into saying she did.

Hope this helps

If I understood correctly they are claiming Sonny tricked the innocent butter wouldn't melt in her mouth Theresa into confessing which is tainted by Sonnys actions so as McQueen and part of theFamily she must be let out of jail ASAP. But whilst Theresa did murder Calvin it's not a problem for them but having a guy who wants justice is terrible to them hypocrites
It was beyond belief the daughter managed o work the mobile so it would record at precisely the right moment to record that

OK, that makes sense. It's so badly written, it's like trying to decipher the indecipherable!

What's more annoying than Theresa getting away with murder, is Carmel wanting the woman who killed her husband freed (under the pretence of not doing it), just b/c Sonny turned out to have coerced Theresa into confessing! That's dumb.

I did LOL when Theresa was let out on the basis of a recording that could easily have been doctored (and with no real investigation), while Maxine, whose's heavily pregnant with no prior convictions was refused bail on the basis of circumstantial evidence. HO justice at its finest!

It doesn't make any sense to me either as she confessed that she killed Calvin. I think they are trying to say that because Sonny was dodgy he tricked her into confessing so therefore her confession is not valid perhaps.

That what I think but I also think you shouldn't expect 'sense' from hollyoaks as its retconned Dodgers family and is ignoring how people would react to bereavement etc

that is the only bit thats slightly believable! my 3 year old niece can work my phone like a pro - she is very good a recording random rubbish without any help although I do agree with you, its a little too convenient that she recorded precisely what was needed

I have a feeling they cancelled Hollyoaks Later just because they knew Teresa would be back but not in time for it!

Oh don't be so ridiculous lol! I know she has featured in every series since she arrived in Hollyoaks but they wouldn't cancel it because of her not being in it. They said it's because they wanted to concentrate on the main show. But we are getting two feature length specials at Christmas and New Year.

The police can't rely on Theresa's statement to not have come from Sonny forcing it out of her.

Its got nothing to do with sense. Forced confessions happen. Barry George went to prison for years after being forced into saying he killed Jill Dando.

The trick is not to think as Kirkwood thinks the audience are a bunch of half wits

And the Nico parentage? Dodger forgetting Sienna stabbed him? Tegan etc barely caring their parents are dead

The problem with Hollyoaks is it still tries to be realistic with the issue storylines and yet it wants melodramatic shocks that are comical in how they make no sense. What makes them decide that incest is funny but domestic abuse is not? (not that either of them are comic)

I love how the Hollyoaks people couldn't be bothered to do another trial...
