First there is too many Carters, now they want another one to stay. Which is it?

I love the carters (bar linda) I want her to stay and zsa zsa and Carly and her baby to return. I don't care how many carter there are, they are brilliant characters and that is what matters. Stan is leaving, dean is probably going to leave. Tosh at the end of her storyline. Slyvie and Elaine should become recurring. Babe needs to move onto the square. I do t see slyvie making it past next year though.

I really really liked her! I loved her relationship with her grandchildren and seeing her with Mick was a great dynamic too. But seeing her with Linda, sealed it for me. When she clocked how Linda reacted to Dean in the bar and then later attacking that pillock Dexter slobbering over Nancy.....you could believe that she was Linda's mother. The chemistry and the way she looked at her. Brilliant casting - she slots right into that family naturally.

I'm not sure I want her to become permanent (mainly because I still think there's too many in the Carter dynamic at the moment), but recurring would be fantastic.

Elaine is more suited to be a recurring character. I can't see her leaving her own pub in Watford and it gives linda somewhere to go when she has marital problems.

It's important for the show to continue building the supporting cast with the likes of Elaine, Babe and Sonia who can come and go as they please. I wish they would do the same with the likes of Charlie Slater, Ada Fox and even Tanya Cross.
Charlie and Ada should definitely be popping in and out to support their Square based relatives, particularly the former who is behaving VERY out of character not to have come back after the fire. And Tanya is a much loved character but it's pretty unanimously agreed that right now she has no long term future on the Square without falling back into the old merry-go-round that is Max & Tanya but I'd like to see dropping off Oscar, coming to Abi's leaving do, checking in on Lauren etc I think continuity has been improved massively in the last year but it could always do with work. |
