Of course but his character has charisma too. He probably could be a Max type character if he wanted to in real life.

The hips, the laconic sex appeal. You are so right, whatever IT is, he has IT in spades.”

I cannot wait to see his AT......he should be a more accomplished dancer by then and if Jeanette gets the choreography right I expect it will sizzle and then some. My Mum is also admitting to finding him strangely attractive too.

He has nothing, over-rated and boring

He's got bags of confidence without it veering off into arrogance and that's a tricky one for anyone to pull off.
He doesn't take himself too seriously when you see him on ITT, but neither is he all false modesty.
And he's the only dancer on Strictly who has any sort of masculinity to his dancing. And I include the pros in that.

There is certainly something extraordinarily attractive about him. It must be IT, as has been said.
If he could bottle it or teach it, he'd be a millionaire.

He did go wrong a bit tonight but Jake and Janette certainly have the magic - I get excited watching them dance

They were brilliant again. He's definitely a finalist!

he has the capacity to dance in a very natural way, even the 'free arm' they were complaining about serves to empahise the sense of an ordinary bloke doing extraordinary things

Haven't watched EE for years, and Jake is no oil painting. But boy can he move those hips! I can see him in the final.

But it's Jake that makes it believable - that's the point.

They were brilliant again tonight. He was far from perfect, but it almost doesn't matter. He's bringing a dimension to SCD that I don't recall seeing before. A totally natural dancer with great presence and attitude - and performance skills, of course.

I look forward to seeing Janette polish his technique.

Brilliant dance again tonight from Jake and Janette. I really like how he takes to any type of dance. I am voting and wishing for them to be in the final.

Didn't expect to like Jake Wood ...but he is brilliant.....

Dunno about having "it," but he certainly had Ruth Madoc's wig from Hi de hi, when he was being Elvis for the Eastenders cast.
What name??

I think he is a definite contender. A non-dancer with talent and application. To me he is what Strictly is about.

He just has something that little bit extra doesn't he. I think it's the fact he wears a serious, dead pan face and so seems mean and moody and then suddenly bursts into life! A real surprise.

I wasn't that keen on that jive, I was exhausted after it, I saw the effort and I shouldn't have done, remember Chelsee and her jive with Pasha , it had a lot better technique and it looked effortless.

He needed better technique and I wish he could have done it when he had more technique under his belt.

I am not convinced Janette has all the technique she needs to teach him more, which is a shame as I really like him. I will eat my words when I see her being able to teach him polished technique

Like others have said Jake does have 'it' doesn't he. He's got a sort of quiet charisma - which sounds odd but even though he's not the most lively character he's very likable and quite charismatic in a week. Don't really watch EastEnders but when I have seen it that's how he plays Max Branning too.

His dances have been brilliant and very entertaining so far and he does just come across as a pretty cool but down-to-earth bloke. I expected him to be OK on Strictly - but not this good so early on.

I'd be very shocked if he doesn't reach the final - unless he gets overfatigued balancing doing soap filming and learning 2 or more routines in a week like other soapstars on these sorts of shows have done before him.

I thought it was a scrappy routine and it would have been a lot better without the small stage in the way.

He definitely is a contender but salsa aside I wonder if in the end her choreography might do for him in the finish...I'm afraid it doesn't do much for me. Stoppy starty.

To me he is bbc's golden boy who can do no wrong. Think the judges voting has been with what the producers have influenced, they want him to stay in for as long as possible. His twitter following isn't that wonderful, so a great excuse to get ratings up, he's not my fave at all. I think he'll plataeu wheras others will progress.

Loved the dance and the choreography, Janette is positioning Jake as center stage in every routine as it should be and that is brilliant of her.

Jake is a real contender and the competition is worried about it.

be afraid, be very afraid

That's exactly it! He has an understated confidence. It's very attractive.

He is very masculine but not in that stereotypical/obvious way.

His follower stats aren't that great on twitter, we can't ignore that. He only has 242k worth of followers there, BBC are to me advertising him to epic proportions, he's obviously their chosen one or summat. That's why he's getting the marks he is.

Twitter isn't the be all & end all.

Jake is dancing very well & working very hard. He deserves the scores he is getting.
