Totally agree.

I agree with the fms who say that they just cant seem to warm to many celebrities this year. We are going on week 5 and I STILL cant warm up to the top 4...I mean they dance well and they seem like nice people ...but I just dont feel anything when they dance, dont look forward to them either........

I'm more interested to see how Thom, Steve, Sunetra, Mark, Allison, Judy and even Scott do every week.......I look forward to the middle-leaderboard celebs........I feel much more engaged with them...

Usually every year, I usually like ALL or MOST (or 2 or 3 ) of the top 4 dancers (last year Abbey and Sophie were my favorites; I also liked Natalie and Susanna...) but this year I just cant bother with Frankie, Pixie, Caroline and Jake........so this is certainly NOT a vintage year imo; quite MEH

Do you think it's because a lot of people don't recognise them?

"I don't watch any soaps or crap programmes" so I knew of only a couple.

Err.. Those appearing this year.

I don't watch early morning TV, I don't watch programmes like medical soaps or Eastenders, or cookery programmes. I'd heard of Frankie and Pixie Lott but wouldn't have recognised them singing. I knew of Tim Wannacott as it was hard to avoid his programme when searching for something to watch in the afternoons, etc. etc.,

I don't know - all the ones I'm liking more this year I wouldn't have known if I'd tripped over them in the street before launch night. It's how they come across on Striclty I find interesting, not what they do for a day job.

Oh
I said before this serie started that this cast is the most recognizable we've had in a long time IMO ....FOR ONCE, I knew MOST of the celebrities this year (except Steve,Sunetra, Thom, Jake and Tim )

Last year I was only familiar with Abbey, Susanna and Julian prior to the show . And the years before that , I ended up liking a lot of celebrities that I wasnt even familiar with prior to the show.

So I really dont think that it has anything to do with their familiarity to some of us prior to the show (as far as Im concerned ) ; its just that I just find them (top 4 ) really dull and their partnerships rather uninspiring ,,,,,,but then again this is still early days so my opinion may change....

No I don't think this is the worst series so far - to me it looks like it's shaping up to be a good series. It's not perfect - two of the signings this year I've been really appalled by - but thankfully one of them has now been eliminated and the other one doesn't look like they're going to dominate the show.

My 'worst' annus horribilis strictly was last years series 11 - that's no disrespect to some of the contestants that took part last year that I really liked but I didn't like the way the producers so obviously set it up for a female to win and then shortly into that series you knew which female they were gunning for - someone I didn't like and who I felt was very overrated, so that series ended on a very flat and disappointing note.

This series seems more wide open, I like most of the contestants as personalities - my favourite Jake is strong but there's strong competition from some of the females - and a few of the males could catch him up - so basically in this series for me there's more of a decent competition. I also like most of the middlers and weaker contestants. I still have issues with producers' interference and some dodgy themes but so far it doesn't seem as bad as last year.

I was just going to say the same thing Funnily enough the middle of the table is the most interesting at the moment though - I'm loving Mark, Thom, Sunetra and Steve - can't wait to see how they get on next week. I like Jake a lot too - though his jive was a tad disapointing for me.

Its better than last year, at least we don't have to suffer Susanna Reid this year.

The dancing is as interesting, and the band are as good as previous years - even if there is too often a mismatch between the two.
Don't care about the celebs - usually haven't heard of most of them.
Don't care too much about all the other sh1te they are dressed up with. I just treat it as brain-rot.
