So Fizz, Eva, Kylie, Peter, Rob are all leaving in the next month or so and Deirdre is having a rest, any idea how those leaving will all be written out plus isnt it going to leave a big hole?

The actresses who play Fizz, Kylie and Eva are all going on maternity leave and Anne Kirkbride is only out for a few months.

Yes - from what I've read, Eva actress Catherine Tyldesley is leaving to have her baby - so maternity leave, therefore she'll be back. Same reasons as Paula Lane (maternity leave).
Yes - given the 4 characters listed above (Kylie, Eva, Deirdre & Fizz) are to be returning (at some point, whenever) - this can hardly be classed as an exodus, much less a "mass" exodus.

and peter will be back at some point. plus blackburn would like rob to come back at some point so not exactly a mass exodus just a long holiday or two

How can Rob stick around after killing Tina the way he did, and Chris Gascoyne has said he'll more than likely be out for years than months. I don't blame him after the writing for Peter this yr.

Completely agree, some characters ran out of steam years ago and why they are still there is mind boggling.

The show needs a producer who is not afraid to make some serious changes.
There are too many characters played by actors who know that they are on a good thing at Corrie and would not get work elsewhere.
If only Muddie was on that list. it is weird; we are watching scenes with other actors and, suddenly, there is Muddie in the background !! it happened 2 or 3 times last evening and she had no relevance to the storylines.. What is the producer trying to do with this non-character? The others will be missed, but fortunately they will be back. I hope all the ladies' pregnancies go well.
While not all of them will be big losses, it will take some inventive writing to explain people like Fiz and Deirdre leaving the street.

re chris wether its weeks, months or years he will still be back. that means he hasnt left for good.
why can't Rob come back? you have Tracy who killed charlie stubbs sat on the street and the way she killed charlie was slightly worse

I am beginning to like Maddie. The actress is much better than the one play Sophie. May be Maddie will take on a stronger part.
Unfortuately Fizz will be coming back. Really about time jenny mcalpine was written out. An annoying and exhausted character.
CS is so full of dead wood; and 1/2 the cast are dreadful actors- Im thinking fizz and tyrone-a horrid pair of unlikeable ***** with no redeeming characteristics whatsoever.
Tony is an excellent newcomer; a couple more decent normal actors and characters wouldn't go amisss

What I was trying to say, not very well it seems, was how are they going to write all those characters out so close together? Eva is with Jason wheres she going to go for 6 months, Fizz wouldnt leave Tyrone or her kids and even if she went to look after Cilla she isnt likely to not go home in 6 months is she. Where is Kyle going to disappear to for 6 months without her kids who she loves. Then theres Peter, yes he could get found not guilty and decide to go away, carla could get charged and Rob could confess but theres going to have to be some believeable stories over the next 2 months to get rid of those characters temporarily
