Peter - Maybe he believes he's too rubbish to be a dad to Simon or to be with Carla so he thinks they're better off without him, then rocks up in a few months/years time as a 'better man'?

But a lot can happen in the space of a few years and who's to say that a future EP will want to bring him back. When he goes he has left the show he isn't on a break like before.

Well Ken was away in Canada for over a year caring for his grandson so Fiz not being seen for 6 months isn't that implausible by Corrie's standards.
In theory they have a tough job on their hands making all of these exits believable but if Tommy Duckworth's is anything to go by they won't bother.

yes exactly what I thought! when the first said bev I was like who? then it clicked and I thought really why she go see bev after all this time

Pretty much this. Long holidays, indeed - agreed on that. Peter's & Rob's returns however are more likely to be years rather than months though tbh (if ever in Rob's case, though The Hat may like him back). Not thinking Peter's will be very imminent either - likely to be 3 or 4 years off IMO.
Otherwise, you do seem to hit the nail on the head, as Chris Gascoyne has confirmed that he WILL return as Peter - i do tend to be in agreement, with that
I'll miss Kylie, Eva and Rob. Peter's OK but I think he's due a break. As for Fiz I hate the way she trots. She walks like a child play walking. It'll be interesting to see how they're all written out for a while.
