Exactly why did Rob kill Tina?
Thanks in anticipation of the answer, I'm a bit fuzzy about the details

It was an accident to start. he was trying to make sure she stayed quiet about her and peter. think they scuffled and she went over the balcony.
then he finished her off with the bar out the skip so that she didnt grass on him trying to kill her after she survived the fall. everything he did was very panicked. it would of made more sense for peter to kill her and rob be framed for it |

Tina was also threatening to grass on Tony, Rob and Tracy for their dodgy dealings.

And Rob said he couldn't go back to jail, which he would most certainly have done if the dodgy dealing was found out.

She went over the balcony accidentally after a scuffle with Rob.
When he found her at the bottom she was goading him saying that she was going to the police and would tell them that Rob tried to kill her. So he decided "**** it, might as well do the job"

Tina was going to tell Carla about the affair.
She was going to tell the police about the dodgy dealings. She was also going to tell them about Rob trying to kill her. |

I'd have whacked her too if she was going to tell lies and get me sent to jail. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.

He didn't have the strongest motive. If Rob was so worried about going back to prison, surely the last thing he would have done is murder Tina, which is found out would carry a life sentence. His best course of action would be to have done a runner, or to get rid of the stolen goods and take his chances with Tina.
Protecting Carla was silly too as Rob hates Peter so should have wanted her to find out about the affair. He couldn't have known that it would lead to a miscarriage. Not to mention the inconsistencies in their relationship. One minute he and Tracy are ripping her off the next he's the doting brother. |

In real life she would've thought - "oh, he's a bit agitated, let's pretend to not say anything until I'm safe"

You know what - I was asking that as well as this has dragged on for so long I had forgotton. All these ridiculous face pullings and agitated excitable behaviour from Rob, Stevie wonder could see that he is oh so obviously guilty but they seem blissfully ignorant. where was tinas mother? if she didnt bother to go to the trial why on earth bring her in a few months ago just to sit boozing in the rovers with Reet?

He killed Tina because she threatened to report him to the police. She goaded him to kill her. Rob just lashed out. Rob did feel guilty for pushing Tina from the balcony originally and wanted to help her. It was a moment of madness from him, in my opinion.

Mainly to "protect Carla" in his eyes. Tina's threats about going to the police about the dodgy stuff at the shop only came up during the confrontation at her flat.
To be honest, I'm not really sure what he was playing at or why he felt the need to get involved. |

![]() ![]() Yeah, not exactly the most interesting motivation... Anyway, I really hope he gets away with it. Rob has matured into a lovely bloke.

Tina didn't really help herself. Rob was going to call an ambulance but she started goading him and he panicked and whacked her.

Why did they even commission the storyline?*
