From Monday Ronnie, Charlie and Dot, and Kat and Alfie take centre stage.
Excellent. Sounds like a good week, especially if it's true about Nick returning next week.

Oh yes, a rape victim that won't tell anyone is SOOOOOO annoying! Jeez, did you expect her to instantly run down stairs and tell everyone what happened? Even in the real world it doesn't work like that, there's a great deal of emotion that comes with being raped. You don't even need to be a rape victim to know that.

Also, this is a soap. They have to make an actual storyline out of it. If Linda revealed all tomorrow and it came to a close, then what? That would be far too quick of a story. I know all soaps have a bad habit of drawing things out too long, but no matter how long things are always drawn out, the reveal is always satisfying enough to justify the lengthiness.
I know this from experience. I kept problems myself for years and last year I came to ahead when my best friends badly betrayed me. Although things are not easy to talk em about, it doesn't help though. I was pretty much like linda in a zombies ones state for about a year and tried to end my own life a few times. Can't see linda doing that though.

Exciting...and I love all the characters. Well maybe not Nick, but I am looking forward to his return. Also looking forward to Alfie being found out

I think Kellie is doing a fantastic job but yes, watching her open and end all episodes has been a bit much since it happened. I'm glad the storyline is taking a break from being the main focus.

Telling people somthing like that isn't exactly easy you know.
It's easier if you do it right away.

Of course many women don't report rape in real life but that is not because they are waiting to make a dramatic reveal around Christmas time.

It would actually be quite a new way to tell the story in soap for the victim to tell the police/family straight away, wouldn't it? They always make the woman/man in some cases suffer and wait for the most dramatic time to reveal it.

I would love to see a massive divide of the entire square of those who stick by Linda and those who stick by Dean, hope that happens when its revealed.

I think so, not everyone would believe her, I think Nancy might have been unsure and she'd have had massive issues with Shirley still and maybe Stacey as Dean's friend but also as a former victim of rape, and they could've gone through all the technicalities of court and whatever else that needs to be covered.

I think it's a stupid story anyway. Linda had been shown so far as a tough outspoken take-no-nonsense woman, then when some little squirt makes advances on her she just lies back-well,forward-and lets him have his way. Why didn't she shout at him to get off, hit out, kick, etc?

I think stacey will be disgusted tbh as she was a victim of rape. I don't see park I being on anyone's side as he is dealing with his stroke. Shirley will probably be on the fence too as mick and dean are her sons.

It's definitely going to be a family feud, Mitchell-style. Babe and Linda's mum, Elaine, are definitely going to become sparring partners.

Linda and Kellie are great, but the storyline is going round in circles, Linda crying at the end of every episode or something like that.

Believe me, it will be brought down by the likes of Tosh and Tina, Dexta, Abi, Summerhayes etc... This is why I can never rely on an episode to deliver anymore, there's always some sort of deadwood holding it back!

She had so many chances to tell people last week...

Is this going to be strung along until Xmas or something? Despite Kellie's good acting, I feel that this has already run as far as it can run without something coming out.

Has DTC not learned from the Beale Case that long-running story arcs don't work because nobody cares?
DTC doesn't listen to his fans though, that's the problem.

I know EE loves its misery but do they really think people want to tune in and see someone looking miserable every episode for weeks on end until christmas

These things are always dragged out too long, I know the real life reasons people give but lets not pretend EE want realism

Carla Connor in Corrie did that when Frank Foster raped her.

I think Stacey would be on the fence as a rape victim herself. Also, I think Shirley will want to stand by Dean and be there for him, but she's silently wonder if she's damaged him badly enough for him to rape someone, especially just after she abandoned him again on Sharon and Phil's wedding day. I also think Lee will blame Nancy at first, when he finds out she knew about the kiss. He'll probably think that if Nancy hadn't have kept quiet then Lee/Mick could have warned Dean away and then the rape wouldn't have happened.

I was so hoping she'd instantly report the rape to the police, or at least outcry to someone as soon as possible.

I perfectly understand the harrowing ordeal she's been through and hope I never find out how I would react in that situation, but as a viewer it's frustrating that she won't tell anyone because I think she'd feel so much better if she did. It's just so much to try to deal with alone.

I think this storyline is amazing, idiots down to Kellie's amazing acting skills that it doesn't feel like it's dragging on I love seeing her reactions to things as she's got it spot on.

She's tried, she wanted to tell Sharon after she got back from the hospital except Sharon assumed she'd been leading men on at the pub. Also, her mum's assumed it was an affair instead of hearing her out first and both Sharon and her mum have told her how having the third person in the relationship has badly affected their relationships. So Linda is scared that if she tells Mick, he'll think it's an affair as well and then it'll impact their relationship badly, especially as neither of them had been with anyone else before Dean raped Linda.

The reason Linda hasn't told anybody about it is because she's scared about what Mick would do to Dean, this has been said MULTIPLE times in interviews and I can get why you wouldn't want to admit yourself as a rape victim quickly
It's also been implied on screen with all the references to Mick having a temper.

She was only raped a couple of weeks ago and in EE time it hasn't even been that long as some of the episodes have been set on the same day. People are far too impatient nowadays. Remember when Sharongate went on for two years?
