The show has improved, but there's way too many new boring characters, and the younger cast are used way too much and there's too many! The show isn't as good as the Santer era just yet. The show really appealed to me and a lot of younger viewers back then, but I don't think it would now it I had never watched the show before.

And yes, I agree with you there, Dot is probably the more iconic one, they're very different, but like I said dot edges it!”

It appealed to me too tbf but I prefer it these days with stories that take longer to burn rather than murder mysteries taking about 2 months long. As for characters, at least it eint Branning overload anymore, which suits me!

Dot does edge it, there's someone similar to her in my local launderette, except she can never be arsed to work there, since it's an unmanned one! But on the odd occasion you do see her & she's lovely.

Ah sorry, I have to disagree, the Santer era felt more real to the show, with a better cast, and not an overload of younger cast members, and some really unforgettable storylines, and good writing, and it never got boring, we could have quiet episodes and they'd still be enjoyable... The Brannings never got OTT until 2011, and Santer wasn't EP then, so I don't see what you mean by that? What we do have now though is Carter overload, which is getting just as bad. I agree with the storylines though! A lot have been great, but the quality, cast, and everyday real life scenes seem to be lacking, and there's some poor writing, meaning the episodes lack consistency, anyway I'll stop rambling on!

And ah that's nice haha yeah I suppose Dot has her launderette!
