Well... anyone here have an opinion on it? It's not out officially till Monday but it's been on the net for weeks.

IMO it's not quite as good as R or self titled, but it's close. Easily better than Songs For The Deaf. First half there's some great rock songs, the second half takes more getting into but I think that's where the best stuff is.

Least favourite songs: Little Sister (Not bad, but not that good), In My Head (Loved this song on Desert Sessions, but it just doesn't seem to fit here)

Favourite songs: Everything else

I really cant wait to hear this album. I really enjoyed songs for the death..probably more so than R.

I was dissapointed by Little Sister, its just nothing, really bland and boring.

Is it out monday?

Yep, it is. And I have to agree about Little Sister, it's gotta be my least favourite song they've ever recorded.

Songs for the Deaf is good, but I just found it got old pretty quickly, it's far more glossy and radio friendly than the first two albums. There are some excellent songs on it though.

Kerrang hasn't been credible for years.

If I was gonna listen to any magazine it wouldn't be Kerrang. Considering the crap they give 4 or 5 K's these days I think you're better off getting 2.

I've pre-ordered it weeks ago and can't wait til monday. But can you compare the two (LTP vs QOTSA)? don't you think their 'sound' has changed (and line up!) so much from thier debut? I like thier first album but it was Rated R that they started to get to thier current fantastic sound.

P.S Has Kerrang ever been creditable.

I think the first album and Rated R define the QOTSA sound, SFTD doesn't so much IMO. Lullabies is a definate development in their sound, but some parts remind me so much of something that would have fitted on R or self titled. There's also stuff that's totally different from what they've done before, but ultimately yeah I think you can easily compare any of their albums to each other.

Got it through the post today (very efficient work from PLAY) and I have listened to a few tracks in my lunch hour - sounds pretty good and has that unique QOTSA sound that I love, to early to say whether its as good as Rated R or SFTD.

I bought it earlier from Tesco and I'm about to take it back with a lame excuse to reclaim my £9.77!

It is horrendously bad, there's absolutely no enthusiasm or momentum to the album. I can't find any reason to want to listen to it again. I knew I should have listened to Kerrang!

Rubbish, dont listen to this fool folks, its got a different vibe to the other albums thats all. You either like the QOTSA sound or you dont.

Ah well, if you don't like it, doesn't matter to me.

Fair enough, that was just my opinion. I don't like it what so ever, i prefer the previous two albums by far. Maybe I'm missing something...

I was looking forward to this album and I'm reasonably impressed.
There's quite a mix of styles in the album (some of which I wasn't expecting.) I've still to get into some of the songs (particularly those towards the end) but I can almost see this becoming my favourite Queens album.
So far my favourite track would have to be Tangled Up in Plaid.

My only complaint would be that, like SFTD, I feel a few of the songs 'drag on' for a bit too long.

Songs For The Deaf is my favourite QOTSA album, though that might be because it's the one which I first 'discovered' and the one which I know best. I just really like the general tone.

Lullabies isn't as impressive to me as SFTD, but it's by no means bad. Slightly disappointing, possibly. Hell, I'm still going to go and worship them at Leeds this year!

Thank you! It's not just me who thinks this then.
Were the two songs "Little Sister" and "In My Head" by any chance.

I suggest you spend the £10 on Yourcodenameis: Milo's "Ignoto" when its released. I've heard an advanced copy and its one of the best albums this year so far I've heard.
