Which mark fowler was the best?

David Scarboro (1985–87)
Todd Carty (1990–2003)

I think David was the better mark. I prefer the this mark going of the rails and easily led. It's a shame David died

Easily Todd Carty as Mark. He was an iconic character for many years and hugely missed nowadays. I miss his friendship with Ian and rivalry with Phil and Nick.

I never saw the original Mark but the Todd version was very much a big bland drip.

I know he aged mark for 13 years but the role had to be recast because david sadly killed himself in 88. I always though Todd looked abit old for mark but he still played a brilliant mark regardless

The first 64isb episodes are on YouTube and marks in the first 3 months before the character ran away from home

Todd was okay, but was rather bland. He should of played him tougher, as originally Mark was a bad boy. But didn't David rub the crew up the wrong way by not doing a racist storyline, so they axed him? If so they might of recasted him anyway.

He was axed for that reason but made guest appearances up until David's suicide a couple of years later.

Todd did play him that way when Mark first returned but after he got HIV he mellowed a lot. Mark always had an edge to him though. I remember him always standing up to Phil and Grant when not many would. I also remember him knocking Tom the fireman out after he messed around with Sharon.

This is a great clip which highlights how good Todd was. I don't think David could have delivered this type of acting.
