It's strange. I put my phone down and it'll have one bar of 3G and it will work, i.e. webpages will load. Thirty seconds later there is no service and it won't come back unless I move the phone. I then put it back again and it works.

Rinse and repeat.

900mhz 3g by chance? I've seen that on Vodafone.

I assume its low SNRM due to the distance to the mast.
