Where's Nurun at the end when they meet back at the house?

Hi all

After watching both episodes, I didn't spot Nurun when they're congratulating those who haven't been fired.

I wonder if there was a reason why she wasn't there.

Good spot Noel.

Looking at the 2 endings again, and if I am right between the 2 shows all the others can be seen even if only a quick "flash" but not Nurun.

The only thing that I remembered from ep 1 was that wasn't Nurun a carer for someone in her family, so it may be she didn't stay at the house all the time?.

There was a shot of her getting ready the first morning in her jammies and scarf but nothing since. Without wanting to start world war three I was wondering if she cannot stay in a house with men she is not related to, for religious reasons. Also she possibly may not want to be around alcohol and is in another room when the candidates come back. All wild speculation I know.

I can't really see a problem there. She will have to work with men sooner or later, and I remember the girls' team drinking, including Nurun, after celebrating their prize. I think it was when they were all dressed up in those wetsuits.

Obviously it might not have been alcohol but if she's prepared to mingle with all, then I'm kinda shocked she wasn't there to congratulate those didn't get fired.

Or maybe the editing was so bad they deliberately missed her out.

BIB I think there is a big difference from working with men to sleeping under the same roof as them, it is ok to mix with non mahram men for work but not in private areas which the house would be classed as. Also the Koran says that a woman should not sleep outside of the home without her husband's permission. Like I said I am speculating about why Nurun appears to not be there.

Saira from S1 and Sara from S4 were both Islamic, and they were shown sleeping in the same house with the guys, so it seems unlikely. I suppose Nurun may be a stricter adherent to her religion, but the explanation could be something as mundane as just her going out of the room to get something to eat or make a phone call at the same time that the others returned.

Isn't she a carer for someone? Might have been her mum? I'm sure she said that in the 60 second interviews on the Apprentice website, maybe she's always with her.

I think that's the most likely thing.

Maybe she's free to remove her headscarf for whatever reason (eg shower) during that part of the filming when she is sure all the other candidates are confined to one place and she will not be filmed without it

Or maybe she makes the most of the privacy and goes to pray.

Or maybe she just nipped to the bog. Does it matter?

I think she's said she cares for her dad and also has three children. However she's certainly not the first apprentice with family commitments so I'd be surprised if they had made an exception for her to not live in the house - it'd be impractical anyway given how they like to spring tasks on them.
With the huge mob of them at the moment I suspect she just missed the edit or was having a lie down rather than getting involved in the boardroom dissection.

Can't remember Sara but Saira was not a practising Muslim. Her husband is not Muslim as far as I remember and that's a huge taboo for a practising Muslim.

From a brief bit of googling, it looks like Saira is nominally a Muslim, but not very observant about it. (Cue a dozen or so posters ranting about how that can't be true, and how all Muslims are hardline Koran literalists who want to destroy western civilization)

Not exactly how observant Sara is, but she's definitely a Muslim, since she mentioned how hard it is to find cards for Muslim religious holidays during the card task in her series - although I actually had to look up the ones she mentioned, since I vaguely remembered hearing of them before, but couldn't remember if they were Muslim or Hindu holidays.

I've heard Saira being introduced as a "muslim business woman" on R4's "Any questions?" so I suppose she's muslim when it gets her a radio gig

It was an innocent observation. And not sure why you're getting all aggressive about it.

If you can't contribute positively to the thread, then please refrain from making snide remarks.

I saw a documentary about Saira and her husband going through the process of adopting a child from Pakistan - she referred to herself as a muslim a number of times, and to her faith. (She did also talk about how difficult it had been to eventually 'come out' to family re having a non-muslim partner, as well as things she got up to as a teenager that she'd had to hide from her parents.) I guess she's just a very progressive one, as befits her persona as seen on series 1 and in all her media since.

Maybe she just wasn't interested in engaging in the boring bitching and speculating on the 3 candidates, something which always conveniently is happening as the candidates return and someone will be midway thru a sentence of bitching as they walk in the room even.

I'm sure it's not actually happening as they arrive home. They probably film them the whole time from when they arrive home - at some point they will naturally discuss it (I know I would) and they can just play those clips together with the footage as the others come back.
