I think it will be a very interesting contrast, seeing Sunetra and Simon doing the VW. Will be interesting to see who scores higher. Out of the ones we know so far, I'd expect Jake to have the dance of the night.

Alison & Aljaz - Tango (Saturday show)
Caroline & Pasha - Paso Doble (Caroline's twitter)
Frankie & Kevin - Foxtrot (ITT)
Jake & Janette - Quickstep (Sunday show)
Judy & Anton - Charleston (Sunday show)
Mark & Karen - Samba (ITT)
Pixie & Trent - Samba (Trent's twitter)
Scott & Joanne - Charleston ( Papa Clifton's twitter)
Simon & Kristina - Viennese Waltz (Kristina's twitter)
Steve & Ola - ?
Sunetra & Brendan - Viennese Waltz (Sunetra's twitter)
Thom & Iveta - Cha Cha Cha (Thom's brother's Twitter account)

I would be prepared for Mark to be in the second-dance off with that. I'm going to predict Steve having AS, why not.

Not sure Samba's the dance Mark would want after bottom two appearance- not least because he'll be directly compared against someone like Pixie! And then there's the fact it's such a technically difficult dance!

Agree difficult dance for Mark, not a shoe in for Pixie either (though have no doubt she will be better than Mark) samba does not always sut tall couples

How does it work with the dance choices? Are they set in stone weeks in advance? If you unexpectedly end up in the b2 can you choose a crowd-pleasing dance or are things already fixed by then?

I'd guess Mark will get a good b2 bounce whatever, so perhaps it will be good for him to get the samba over with and then have a much more popular dance next week, when he might be in trouble again.

Can they choose what they do, or do the producers choose for them? Presumably if they stay for the series they plan to do 'one of each type'?

IIRC - the order each couple will do the dances in is decided in advance at the outset of the series, although it is subject to change later down the line.

It hasn't been possible for a couple reaching the final stage to do all the dances since 2009 - in every series since 2010 they've missed out at least one dance.

I would expect Sunetra to be scored higher than Simon, only due to Sunetra having a male pro as a partner. Ballroom dances invariably are better when there is a male pro. There is complex footwork so Simon possibly won't have the time to master this.

Steve and Ola: waltz (from his twitter), though wouldn't rule out VW either because he may not be too aware of the difference

I'm sure they'll still manage to find a way to show his arms.

I don't mind a mildly muscled-up hairy brute of a man in the boudoir (too much muscle is a bit of a turn off for me) but I don't want to see one in the ballroom

So at last we have the complete list:

Caroline & Pasha - Paso Doble (Caroline's twitter)
Frankie & Kevin - Foxtrot (ITT)
Jake & Janette - Quickstep (Sunday show)
Judy & Anton - Charleston (Sunday show)

Pixie & Trent - Samba (Trent's twitter)
Scott & Joanne - Charleston ( Papa Clifton's twitter)
Simon & Kristina - Viennese Waltz (Kristina's twitter)
Steve & Ola - Waltz or VW (Steve's twitter). Left vague in case he's hazy on the distinction

A quickstep to I'm Still Standing? has any other song been used on three totally different dances before?

Hate when they reuse songs of iconic dances. Jill and Darren's jive shall be playing in my head while Jake and Janette do their quickstep.

reckon producers have been looking through dance cd's called CFD (computerised for dance) which are mainly modern tunes in strict tempo - on one album we have build me up buttercup and daydream believer as foxtrot (prob the band on SCD will play them too fast like last week) and tiger feet as a quickstep. on another CFD album volume 7 we have Im still standing as quickstep - which is really good but god knows how it will be played on the show.

I see that yet again Pixie has correct music for her dance and Mark and Karen have a dire samba, Anton has a proper charleston too

producers are certainly making it easy for Pixie with her music choices
