Even as an Alison fan, I can admit she's being completely overmarked

IMO she is over marked and her ego is off the scale a bit like Scotts

She probably never wears high heels because of them being uncomfortable - she has knock knees and flat feet, and maybe is one of those ladies who live in flat shoes for comfort sake. Her choice to have the flat dancing shoes I suspect.

I agree - and I struggle to tell what dance it is that she is actually doing tbh.

I feel the same way about several of the dancers

I don't think she is any more overmarked than anyone else. Her marks are pretty ordinary and appear to be awarded for her performance as a whole, Her poor footwork is what prevents her from receiving higher marks.

i think her place on the leader board is about right, and thats the only real measure onstrictly. she may out last one or two better dancers, but no more than that. there aren't going to be any major upsets this year.

that said, i think she is a decent mover in general (although she hasn't lived up to / improved on early promise), and she clearly enjoys what she's doing, and doesn't take herself too seriously so i don't really have a problem with her.

but then i never got why some were determined to hate lisa a few years ago

She may be able to move, but sadly she can't dance, well at least not nearly as well as they are leading her to believe she can.

Maybe the judges have a 'differently abled' scale they're marking her by, because she's 'special'.

I really like Alison but I am disappointed that her footwork hasn't improved - maybe even slightly worse as she seems to be forgetting her steps.
I think it's unlikely she could do a whole dance on the balls of her feet but I am sure she could manage a few at least. I would like to see her work on that a bit more instead of just shaking her 'booty' every week.
Sadly getting a bit samey which is the trap Lisa fell into.

Not feeling the love for Alison, she just annoys me - too mouthy and OTT. Don't think she's overmarked necessarily but she does get an easy ride from the judges compared to others and isn't as good as she thinks she is.

i think they've been clear that her footwork is not making the grade. but since you agree she can move, that puts her streets ahead of people like scott and judy, who can neither dance, nor move.

You're not wrong
Mind you did notice an improvement with Judy, although Anton was steering well. I doubt she could have moved and danced that routine on her own.

yes, judy seemed more relaxed which probably helped. although i did not like the way anton hurled her across the floor at all, it seemed rather contemptuous to me.

Imo people are voting for Aljaz not Alison, but having said that she can still move better than Scott, just like people voting for Natalie and not Tim.

I think that was in line with the mood of the dance and the song choice (jealousy). She obviously went way further than intended as you can see Anton struggling not to laugh. In fact they both seem to laugh a couple of times during the dance. Not quite right for the dance maybe but lovely to see anyway.

Craig really likes Alison. Smiles a lot when she is on.

As I mentioned yesterday, "perhaps they were marking the fringe?"

I also suggested that she was this years "Russell Grant" figure.

A nice lady who will also get a few votes for, "just being who she is."

"Destined" to stay in, to promote a bit of "media controversy" and therefore good publicity for this enjoyable pantomime, when a few weeks down the line a better dancer goes out instead of her.

But as in all pantomimes, "it'll all come out right in the end."

You mean obese I think. Everybody protects her because they are afraid of being labled fatphobics.

But, I suppose it is quite awakening to see somebody like that able to swing themselves around and not care a damn about the wobbly bits. I wish I had her confidence and wtf attitude.

It's not necessary to use the full range of marks to mark Alison fairly relative to the others.”

It is if you are going to put Judy on 5, Alison on 6, Mark on 7 and Frankie on 8 - where do you put the rest!

My problem with Alison is not really the size of her body - it is the way everything about her is 'oversized' and yet I don't find her good at anything. I also thought she was a dreadful interviewer who would never have progressed on tv if it wasn't for her size and so called bubbly personality. Now with the dancing, she is certainly putting in the energy but once again she is relying on being OTT to carry her through. I would like her to actually try to learn to dance rather than just being 'bubbly.'

This exactly.......

so far all her dances seem to be the same format, shake about a bit and smile....

I admit she has got a good sense of rhythm, but no aptitude to interpret the different dances and their disciplines.

Yes, she's just not bothering to move her legs much--odd, as so many 'larger' people i know [including an old school beau] have been fantastic accurate and energetic dancers both above & below the waist. I get the feeling she's sort of doing as little as possible since her personality & Alijaz's brilliance will get her thru. Such a shame to miss such an opportunity to LEARN--but she's really brought out a FUN side to Alijaz which has done his image no end of good!
What name??

It think she was about level with Steve and Sunatra.

I think in-between (.5) marks are needed to distinguish between marginally better/worse contestants. Obviously that would lessen the frequency of tying scores too.

Alisons footwork is absolutely terrible, her upper body work is ok, she is bubbly and throws herself into every routine but she is constantly overmarked

Her samba last night wasn't great but for some reason the judges seemed to love it - yes, they ALL commented that her footwork wasn't good but their scores didn't reflect that

Its not really fair on Alison as she believes she is better than she really is
