I agree with pretty much all of this

Agree with much of this- I'd probably retain Karen and possibly Ailona too but the rest I think are spot on.

1)Stop inferring with pros ability to select music, costuming, pros and themes that actually suit their celebs and the music they are dancing to - if a pro can't do this then shouldn't really be on the show - they managed fine for earlier seasons let them get on with it - please no more lobsters unless the celeb has a personality that can carry it off - I'm looking at you Russel Grant - and no more cowboy paso ever!!

2)Stop the 'comedy' VTs - training VTs should show training it worked fine for many seasons why did it stop?

3)limit themes, props and faff time - I like Halloweon - don't shoot me all at once! - it's fun and has produced some great dances - but please limit the themes to two or three per series and have none earlier in the competition than Halloweon. Faff time needs to be limited to a set time after than you get automatic penalities from the judge - you are here to dance not to act or prat around. I think props too need to be limited not necessarily to one week but every other dance does not need them - the door in Scott Maslin's jive enhanced it but many do not it didn't help Caroline last Saturday

4)what was wrong with having one type of ballroom and one type of latin dance per week until you work through them - I may let this be suspended for theme weeks but only for theme weeks - also agree with limiting AT and Charleston's to later in the competition especially ATs. Also can we fix it so everyone dances every dance if they make to the final? - please!

5)I like the idea of voting on the bottom part of the leaderboard only for the first few weeks at least - it means that we don't lose someone who can dance too early and most people prioritise voting for those lower on the leaderboard in the early stages anyway.

6)I'm mostly meh about the judges and presenters - well I'm meh about Tess - she encourages meh - I don't see any harm in having a former pro on the judging panel providing they don't have a partner who is still a pro in the competition or a grudge against other pros - I would encourage the judges to actually say what they liked and don't like about the dance - technically that is - I can see with my own eyes if someone came aht or if they danced like a slug in salt - keep it not personal too it's a red rag to viewers to vote someone in if you assassinate their dancing and it does't help them improve or enjoy the experience. And dear judges for you in return I will strongly discourage the audience for booing you if you say anything that isn't you did get. Former winners of SCD and DWTS are barred from the judging panel - have yet to see one yet that didn't make me want to chuck things at them.

Recent developments I like on the positive side and I would keep are keeping celebs in until they have done two dances and spreading the first week over two nights to give the public a chance to get to know the couples - I would make sure they dance one of each type of dance though - one ballroom, one latin - and the first would be a ccc or waltz.

I'm limiting the number of couples to 14 for now on - more is too many less is too few - 14 worked fine - why did it change? 7 male celebs 7 female celebs - perfect!

I'm keeping the Sunday show but ditching Len's Lens - will probably keep DO but you be persuded to dtich it. It working ok this series so far. but Snowdenesque abuses of power by the judges will mean it's removal and if two dances weeks come back in which may be needed to make everyone dance all dances - then it will be done on the weakest dance.

Just briefly I would say- more training footage please, like we used to get (in the good old days!). And yes, stop the comedy VTs! ( I know it's been said many times before!) More proper training VTs would be one of my rules!
And I agree with lots of the other posts here... (Though I haven't had time to read them all!)
More appropriate music would be another one on my list...

If they don't have props or furniture there wouldn't be any reason to have the VTs! The chat in the Claudatorium would be sufficient to get the next dancers in position.

There is a lot of "lets go back to the good old days" on this thread. They will only go back to the "good old days" if enough of the audience demand it-ie if they switch off or write in droves etc. The fact is this version of Strictly (with props,VT's,comedy, sob stories,Lens lens etc etc) is the most popular its been-certainly over the past three years. Its a pantomime to an extent, not anyway near as blatant as X Factor became at its highest peak, but its there all the same. Personally I don't think that's entirely bad, the show is incredibly warm hearted(the opposite of XF imo) and invites people in to sit by the fire so to speak-that means being as accessible as possible-the VT's are a way of doing that for certain sections of the audience-including children I would imagine.

I'd retain Aliona. I think Karen and Kevin come as a package so you couldn't get rid of one without the other. I'm also not sure about Kevin's sister Joanne. I don't think her choreography hasn't been very inventive - of course she does have Scott.

I would also ensure that if a dancer has a 'no hoper' one year, they get a decent partner the next year.

I would also urge the producers to get a male anchor. I really don't like Tess and Claudia.

I'd allow the pro-dancers more choice over the music. They know best what music is needed to get the best out of the celeb. Inappropriate music is my biggest irritation on Strictly. What's wrong with proper tango or salsa music for a dance, let's educate people that there is more music out there than just the pop charts.

Every dance seems to be themed now, why? Keep it to the theme weeks if we have to have them.

Replace Tess with someone, anyone. I'd give Anton a chance to see if that worked.

And find something to replace the silly VT's. Have a mini competition or something, your favourite pro routine/ costume/ dance of the series?

I don't think that's the case - SCD was getting good ratings in 'good old days' so to speak and some things that have come in recently like Halloweon, giving celebs two weeks of dancing before the first boot work. I don't mind the family members appearing occasionally on training VTs that's always happened what I and everyone else hates are the 'lets do a comic skit - silly theme thing on the dance they're about to do' - why?! In the past you just got training with occasional family visit and James Martin doing cape work at all hours - it wasn't unbequitious. I also hate the imposition of music - I'm not a trad music at all times person you do get great routines to modern music but pros know what will work with a dance and what won't - and it seems the mood and timing of some of the music works against some dances especially tangos and pasos as does silly theming - cowboy paso anyone?!

The only change they need to carry out is to have a longer results show on Sunday live.

Schedule it directly against the Chav Factor, and it would inflict even further damage on it.

How intense must it be for Kevin working with his girl-friend *and* his sister! I know it's only for 4 months and it's not every day, but working on a top tv show plus social media, must work like dog-years: multiply it by 7.

Unlike most of you, I'm very happy with the show as it is - I'm not a dance expert, I want to be entertained by Saturday night TV and it does the show superbly for me. However, two things that do spring to mind are...

*Have the results show live on Saturday night - I always look at the spoilers on DS on Saturday but I think it would be more exciting to do it this way. I find the concept of trying to keep the bottom 2 a secret until Sunday night very daft and it also devalues the results show. It doesn't need to be so long either; 30 minutes at the very most, probably 15-20 would do.

*Change the judging panel. Having just watched ITT and found myself agreeing with pretty much every word Karen Hardy said, I believe she would make a great judge - I'd have Karen, Craig and Bruno. I used to like Darcey but she is probably my least favourite now and Len is little more than a caricature. 3 judges would be plenty IMO and there would be no need to have a Head Judge to prevent ties.

You make two very interesting points which I agree with. The problem is I think that the producers are trying to make it more like the US show - which imo is a mistake.

I think Karen would make a great judge - as would Ian Waite. Craig now seems to be the only one to actually offer criticism.

I also wonder if the producers are actually looking at this thread. I have sent a letter of complaint to the BBC but expect it has been 'lost in the mire'. I have also sent one to Points of View about the introduction of the judges and gimmicks which detract from what the show is supposed to be about - DANCING!!!!!
