EastEnders cut back Max Branning's storylines in order to help Jake Wood win Strictly

How do ya'll feel about this article.?

Honestly they needn't bother - Jake is a great dancer with a built-in fanbase.

Anything that reduces screen time for Max gets a massive thumbs up from me!

Seriously I still want an answer from DTC (in one of his 612 gushing interviews about EE) as to why he thinks Max is an irresistible sex god to women?

Seriously last week he said to Emma "I thought we had samfin special?" looking completely bored and with his hands in his pockets and the line delivered with the enthusiasm of a man on death row, yet we are meant to give a shit about this guy?

I hope Jake does well in Strictly because he's not a bad dancer, but as for Max, I couldn't give a foxtrot if he disappeared forever!!!

Agree with all of this.

Max is an odious character. He's always so miserable, I don't think I've ever seen him laugh or smile spontaneously. Whenever he does smile, it's usually faked because he's hiding something, or is 'tortured' about something he's done. He ALWAYS seems to have an agenda. And don't get me started on his parenting.

So if his screen time's being reduced, good.

EastEnders is shown before the watershed so I don't think we can comment on Max's irresistibility as a Sex God.

Anything that reduces Max's screen time is a bonus for me. If I had my way Strictly Come Dancing would keep him indefinitely. I'm sure all those years of shoe shuffling will help Jake Wood in his quest to win the competition. .

I'm not too fussed about max tbh. Jack was the more believable sex god and had more to him then just affairs. Max is one of those characters I feel needs to be rested unless they can think of a better storyline for him. Roxy and billy also fit into this category and bianca was too (but she's gone now).

Max bores me to tears but I wish Jake well. Would be nice for him to win.

Jake is brilliant, hope he wins, seen his dances on YouTube.

Jake is doing well on Strictly. I think there are a few that look more promising right now, but there's no doubt that he has a strong fan base that could swing it for him.

He can stay away as long as he likes. and take the awful Emma with him.

TK thought you had deserted the forum nice to see ya back!

I'm indifferent to Max, so little or more screen time is good either way, Jake Wood is a fab dancer though and his been great on Strictly.

Ha ha, no chance of that happening but thanks . Nice to see ya too. Just have been really busy with work and life in general . I miss messing around on DS .

Knowing Max, he'll probably end up bedding the female judge and getting her to give him a good score . And the affair will end up being exposed on the final night of the show as Jake Wood is crowned the winner .

Its no surprise he's a good dance, after all of the time spent...shuffling >_> But seriously, I expect him to win

I'm not surprised they are doing this. I've always suspected that the BBC stars have a slighly easier time than some of the other celebrities simply because they'll be more inclined to juggle schedules as the cross publicity will be good for both shows but is there really much in it for say the Corrie or Hollyoaks producers? Plus of course it being filmed in London will make easier for those celebrities based there already whereas again, just the travelling each week must take it out of the North based celebs.

That said, i'm sure that the same probably holds true for DOI and the ITV celebs back when it was on.

He is brilliant though and I wish him the best. I think something is going to have to go seriously wrong for him not to make the final. The only danger is that he's so good early on that somebody else that goes on a 'journey' and improves a lot will capture the voters imagination more.

Perhaps maybe they can actually give him a DECENT storyline when he returns...

Well this is interesting to know so how will his disapearance be explained on screen now his storylines have been cut down? maybe he goes away with Emma for a bit to get away from all the bad press from him sleeping with her

I doubt he'll actually be written out as Scott Maslen was in 2010 - just his screen time reduced. So max will still be around, we just won't see that much of him.

I imagine it'd be impossible to write him out completely as you'd think he'd be involved with the Lucy storyline which will be hotting up again in the New Year which they will either be filming or about to start filming by now. He might even be involved with the fallout of the rape given Dean's involvement with both Lauren and Stacey.

He'll probably spend the next few weeks in bed

Jake's doing a great job on Strictly! Really enjoying him. They should have Max open a salsa club when he comes back. If he danced like that on EE, then I would completely understand why he gets all the women!

Jake is amazing and I have never watched Strictly til now I really think Jake should win

Scott Maslen looked totally worn out by the time he got voted off Strictly (he was rather good too).

Not a huge Max fan, but Jake has been great in SCD so far. He should reach the final, hopefully!
