I was thinking that. And perhaps an acting coach so he'd stop that bleeding trout pout of his. I feel sorry for both Scott and Joanne. I think he thought he'd be better than he actually is and I think the latter is trying so so hard, maybe to the point of desperation.

I thought Total Eclipse of The Heart was a bit of a odd song choice for an American Smooth but then again some of the song choices have been particularly dire and restricting this year. I miss the freedom of the show.

He is making improvments but I think he's the type that needs to be coddled so when not getting it he might sulk.

Right from the start of Radio 1 in 1967, the BBC have an advantage no other radio broadcaster can match. Namely that they could turn their Radio 1 stars in to even bigger names by giving them tv gigs like 'Top of the Pops' 'Seaside Special' etc, etc.

Someone has obviously decided Scott Mills is 'tv material' as in presenting 'The National Lottery'- and now this.

Only he isn't.

I'm not quite sure how he needs to be kept in? He is bottom of the leaderboard so hardly protected and its the voters that are keeping him safe, not the judges.

The guy is an absolute beginner - as is Judy - but it seems that Striclty have conflicting thoughts about beginners, they want them to be beginners but not for too long. People who either have no aptitude or take longer than 3 or 4 days to learn a new skill are hoofed into the Funtime Frankie comedy role, whether it fits their personality or not. Way to make someone who is already struggling feel at ease and confidient with their performance.

Chris Myles has tweeted that people should vote for Scott because, if he's voted off, he won't have anyone to laugh at.

I say people should stop voting for Scott so we can all enjoy those who are at least making some progress.

Unfortunately my husband's training does not extend to they whys...why someone displays such an emotion...just which emotion is being displayed.

I wish they would just give him a proper dance to do. No daft gimmicks and silly choreography. Just basic steps. Yes he would still be rubbish but at least he'd have some self-respect left.

Me too. I think he's a bit insecure, and IMO has been trying hard, and it takes a lot of effort for him to learn the basic routine, and would like that to be acknowledged, before launching into everything that went wrong. But I do think he's enjoying the rest of it, and is happy to stay (for now).

He's one of those ones where if the judges want him to go, they need to be nicer.

I think he is trying really hard but is never going to be a dancer. He just doesn't have any co-ordination or feel for movement whatsoever. It would be kindest to let him leave as soon as possible. Very uncomfortable viewing.

Scott Mills is the reason I stopped listening to Radio 1 in the early afternoon. For ages, while I was working, I had Radio 1 in the background, but Mill's Innuendo Bingo was the final straw. I actually turned over to Capital! (turned back later though).

Scott Mills as a DJ reminds me of someone who has never really grown up. Innuendo Bingo is particularly infantile, but Scott giggles away at the clips like a naughty schoolboy. I find it all quite pathetic.
For me, Scott is not a great DJ, despite any awards he has been given. He's very middle-of-the-road with no cutting edge - all 'muzac' and silly jokes.

But I guess all those Innuendo Bingo fans are voting for him...perhaps spitting out their glasses of water while they watch him dance...

I have never heard him on the radio but he has guested on TV programmes and I have never really noticed any star quality or spark about him.

When I watch him on Strictly what I see is a man who has no real connection with his partner. A man who genuinely thinks he is doing a great job. He seems really shocked when they criticise him. All of the other celebrities take on board what they are told by the judges and their partners. But he doesn't.

I wonder if he is making a point. He is getting support from his celebrity mates. So I wonder if he is trying to prove he can get really far and even win just because he is popular in social media. Some other posters have commented that he is always tweeting. To me he is making no progress either because he really does think he is the finished article or he just doesn't care because he doesn't have to.

I don't find Scott endearing at all in fact I find him quite arrogant and I agree with the comments that mention anger because I saw that myself last night and I was quite shocked by it. I do feel sorry for Joanne trying to work with him when he clearly isn't taking much notice of what she is trying to teach him. He can't go quick enough for me but I just think he is going to be on SCD for a while yet.

He is abysmal but he gets loads of celebrities to ask their fanbases to vote for him, including One Direction. That coupled with the sympathy vote and the obligatory let's vote for the worst person vote, is keeping him in. I certainly don't find him likeable either. I feel a bit sorry for him, but he isn't endearing in the way Russell Grant was. I think the celebrity mates thing is the main reason.

He is up there with Widdecombe but at least she was funny. Watching him is just torture.

To be honest although I had heard of Scott Mills I'm not a Radio 1 listener and the only time I had seen him before Strictly was when he appeared on a couple of other television shows (maybe the ITT panel). However, I thought last night's dance was a rare treat and something increasingly lacking on Strictly - the unforced humour of someone truly terrible attempting to be good, instead of the forced humour of someone truly terrible willingly doing a comedy routine. I was howling all the way through it. It was the perfect storm of Whatever Happened to Baby Joanne, Scott's Dick Emery dance face, an OTT power ballad, literal choreography and one of the worst lifts in Strictly history. In that last spinny lift I gasped as Joanne faced being repeatedly bounced off the floor like a jumbo jet overshooting the runway. I've had texts and phone calls about it. It's going on my list with Bacofoil and Michael Vaughan's jive.

I certainly can't explain it ! To me he is totally hopeless and looks bewildered and traumatised. Goodness knows who has been voting for him.

Not sure where all these accusations of arrogance are coming from, as a regular listener to his show, he's more than aware how shit he is, and how ridiculous that crab routine was...

And just because you know how bad you are at something, doesn't make it any nicer to hear other people saying it...

I think he knows how bad he is and is embarrassed by it. He looked quite upset by the criticism, but I don't think he disagrees. I just question how much fun he is having. He keeps asking people to vote but he looks miserable the whole time.

I suspect what some may be annoyed about is the touting for votes, especially if as you say he knows how bad he is.

He is a chronically bad dancer, right up there with Quentin Wilson, who at least had the decency to acknowledge his shortcomings. Scott on the other hand, to my mind at least, seems to be dumb founded when he receives his feedback from the judges. (reminds me of Craig I'm Fred Astaire Kelly).
Also the affectatious pout is just so off putting...he's like that Lauren Goodyear. Someone needs to tell him to stop it.
For our sake and Joannes sanity, I hope he goes very soon. I really haven't warmed to him at all & canvassing his celeb friends to vote for him leaves a bad taste.

My wife is an expert on auras, and while watching the dance she was in the room arranging her radiant stones so as to increase the flow of orgones to our Love Hammock. She happened to look up [I had the TV on silent so as to listen to pan pipe music unhindered] and asked me who the chap whose aura suggested "deep loathing for humanity, an overwhelming desire to skin and eat Joanna Clifton and a tendency to kick puppies" was. Now I'm no expert, but I'd say that it's pretty obvious that Scott is basically Satan, and has demanded to be allowed on Strictly to fulfil his personal vendetta against you.

Only ever seen him on the lottery show. I find it staggering that someone connected with music in anyway can have no rhythm what so ever. He seems to have a lot of mates in what I call the 'lovey brigade'

His reaction when he got a 2 from Craig in the first week bothered me. He seemed genuinely shocked, even though he was awful. That rubbed me up the wrong way. But then several times he has acknowledged his shortcomings. I don't listen to his radio show but apparently he makes fun of how bad he is. But I do agree there seems to be an element of petulance and bruised ego there.
